Stardew Valley may be viewed as the pinnacle of cozy gaming, but even creator ConcernedApe will attest to the fact that completing every achievement is a mammoth challenge. The PC version of the beloved Farming RPG has 49 achievements that range from simple tasks like crafting 15 different items to tests of endurance like reaching Level 10 in every skill. Yet one of the most brutally difficult is Fector's Challenge, which is so tough that even ConcernedApe has struggled with it for years.
Posting to X (formerly Twitter), ConcernedApe stunned the Stardew Valley community by confirming that he has finally beaten Journey Of The Prairie King without dying, thus completing Fector's Challenge and unlocking every achievement in the game.
Fans were quick to praise the developer, with many asking for tips and tricks regarding the mini-game; ConcernedApe was more than happy to oblige, noting that the best order to purchase items is "ammo > revolver > boots." User hung2563hn summed it up by saying that ConcernedApe only now completing all the achievements is a testament to Stardew Valley's immersion.
Fector's Challenge Is The Real Deal
Only 1.2% Of Players Have Unlocked It
Finishing Journey Of The Prairie King is already tough, especially in the later stages when the screen is filled with enemies, but doing so without dying is punishing. Those who have managed to complete the task have stated that players shouldn't even attempt it if they can't consistently beat JOTPK, so unless users have a good amount of practice, winning in a single life is next to impossible. As for further insight, some hints have become more common as the community locks down key strategies.
The most important tip, which has been backed up by ConcernedApe, is to avoid the Nuke power-up. While it does kill every enemy on the screen, they won't drop any items or coins, the latter of which is essential for upgrading gear to survive later waves. The Sheriff Badge and the Wheel are also widely agreed to be the best items so players should hold onto them in the event they become swamped.

ConcernedApe's Achievement Is A Fun Moment For Everyone
A Reminder That Skill Isn't Necessary For Enjoyment
I think ConcernedApe only completing 100% of his own game's achievements eight years after its release is a great reminder that skill isn't needed to have fun. The fact that Stardew Valley's creator has struggled with a single achievement for years while still putting out more content and likely enjoying other aspects of his game is an example to the community that they should appreciate the experience however they want. At the end of the day, it's all about what kind of life you want to make for yourself in Pelican Town.
