Star Wars is currently in the midst of one of its most prolific periods in terms of new content, with a trove of new films, TV series, video games, novels, comics, and collectibles ensuring there's almost always something new for fans to dive into. Disney+'s live-action slate has expanded the galaxy far beyond the Skywalker Saga through acclaimed series like The Mandalorian, Andor, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew, while animated projects such as Tales of the Underworld and Maul: Shadow Lord explore previously untapped corners of the universe.

Revealed during Wizards of the Coast's D&D Vision Keynote, it's one of the biggest surprises in the newly announced D&D Universes Beyond initiative.
The announcement closed the keynote with a dramatic appearance by Darth Vader before the Star Wars and Dungeons & Dragons logos appeared together, confirming that a Star Wars crossover is officially coming to D&D in 2027. The project is expected to take place during the Galactic Civil War era, although Wizards has not yet confirmed specific storylines, books, or playable content.
Beyond confirming the Season of Rebellion branding and a 2027 launch window, Wizards has kept most gameplay details under wraps. D&D Beyond describes the project as part of the company's new strategy of themed "seasons" that expand both classic D&D settings and outside franchises through the Universes Beyond label, beginning with World of Warcraft before moving to Star Wars.
