Spider-Man's New Avengers Status In MCU Clarified By Tom Holland

Tom Holland reveals his character's current status as a New Avenger ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Peter Parker may have survived Avengers: Endgame, but his identity was eventually exposed to the entire world, and he convinced Doctor Strange to cast a spell so everyone would forget who he is. While Peter will still interact with other Marvel heroes, his story this time around is more grounded in street-level crimes, leaving his Avengers status a question mark.

In an interview with ScreenRant's Liam Crowley for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland believes that Peter Parker/Spider-Man is "sitting right in the pocket" and is "exactly where he belongs as a superhero" in the upcoming film. Peter is "really suffering" this time around, which has gotten worse because he's been "neglecting his human side." Putting all of his energy into protecting New York has come at a cost.

"When we're talking about Spider-Man, I think he's sitting right in the pocket. I think he's exactly where he belongs as a superhero, but as Peter Parker, he's really suffering. He's really neglecting his human side. He's giving every ounce of energy he has to protecting the city of New York, and that is coming at a cost."
