EXCLUSIVE: South African actress Trix Vivier has signed with Nevername Artists Agency (NAA).
The news comes after her role in The Trek, a South African-German period feature that’s for Prime Video.
At NAA, she will join a roster of diverse and often multilingual international performers from across the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, including Saja Kilani, Motaz Malhees and Amer Hlehel, the stars of the Oscar-nominated pic The Voice of Hind Rajab.
Vivier’s previous credits include Showmax’s Afrikaans comedy Khaki Fever, Netflix features Umjolo: Day Ones and Umjolo: There Is No Cure, and the Cinemax and HBO series Trackers. The star – who has twice been nominated for Best Actress at South Africa’s Silwerskerm Film and Television Festival – is now based in Dubai.
Her latest pic, The Trek, will world-premiere in Directors’ Week at Portugal’s Fantasporto, before screening in competition at the Joburg Film Festival.
Directed by Meekaëel Adam in his feature debut, The Trek is co-written and produced by James C. Williamson (Fried Barry). The horror-Western follows a settler family on a perilous journey across the Kalahari Desert in the mid-1800s. Vivier stars opposite Morné Visser (The Kissing Booth franchise).
The Department of Special Projects is producing the film, with Prime Video holding sub-Saharan African rights and Global Constellation handling international sales.
