Sophie Habboo broke down in tears as she received a video call from her best friend Melissa Tattam revealing she was engaged to her boyfriend Toby Watkins.

The former Made In Chelsea stars developed a close friendship while filming the E4 reality series, before going on to co-host their popular podcast, Wednesdays.

Melissa, who was a bridesmaid at Sophie's wedding to Jamie Laing, naturally rang her pal to share the happy news after Toby had popped the question.

It revealed during the call that Sophie had secretly had a hand in planning the surprise, as Melissa told how she had helped Toby design her stunning diamond ring.

A sweet video of the moment was shared by Jamie on Instagram, as a tearful Sophie answered the call from Melissa and Toby.

Sophie could be seen jumping around with joy and squealing after she was told their news, as Melissa says: 'I cannot believe you knew!'

The mother-of-one apologises to her pal and demands: 'Show me that rock!'

Sophie then explained that she tactfully needed to get her friend to have her nails done ahead of the proposal.

Sharing the heartwarming interaction with his followers, Jamie wrote: 'Not the squeal at the beginning @sophiehabboo... we love you Melissa & Toby!'

Many picked up on the close bond between the two women and commented that it was 'lovely' to watch the reaction.

A time stamp on the snaps indicates Melissa and Toby got engaged on Monday, February 2. 

The happy couple were flooded with congratulations from fans and their celebrity pals, including influencer Lorna Luxe who called it the 'best news'.

Ollie Lockewood replied: 'Ahhh guys this is so wonderful!!! Massive love and congratulations Xx.'

Melissa's former co-star and close friend Sophie Habboo wrote: My LOVES!!!!!!!!!!! Weeeeeping!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️' 

Among the replies was a comment from Melissa, who publicly declared: 'l love you.' 

Melissa and Toby originally dated for three years until they split in 2022, though the following year reunited after meeting up on a trip in Bali.

Since leaving the show, Toby works as a creative director for a production company, while Melissa hosts her podcast Wednesdays. with Sophie Habboo. 

Speaking previously to her MIC co-star Sophie, she said their breakup had left her 'heartbroken'.

Melissa said: 'Toby has definitely, basically left a scar on my heart, which it's kind of like grief. Jay Shetty said that it's like a pebble that goes in your pocket, right? It never goes away but it just gets lighter.' 

Melissa previously dated Harry Baron for three years and were considered one of the strongest couples on Made In Chelsea at the time.

She revealed on her podcast Wednesdays We Drink Wine that Carrie also follows Melissa's boyfriend Toby Watkins on Instagram.

Her co-host Sophie Habboo started the conversation by saying: 'Apparently Boris Johnson has so many kids he doesn't even know, that's why he never says the number. 

Melissa shocked her fans by revealing: 'oh mic drop. I don't know if I can say this but I'm going to say it. Boris Johnson's wife has previously DM'd Toby Watkins and she follows him.

Sophie couldn't contain her laughter and quipped: 'No you're lying, no no you're lying. 

Melissa responded: 'Deadly f**king serious.'

Sophie then asked what the message said with Melissa replying: 'We don't know because she's unsent it'
