Jinwoo summoned all his shadow soldiers with Igris, Iron, and Tank, easily overpowering the High Orcs. However, despite using his monarch’s domain, the rest of his army was constantly defeated, so his mana decreased rapidly by regenerating them. Still, Jinwoo quickly assesses the situation and uses a potion to replenish his mana and shadow extraction on the fallen high orcs.

Moreover, Kargalgan can cast debuffs and curses, making Jinwoo his worst possible matchup since, due to Kandiaru's Blessing, he is unaffected by any status effect. This makes Kargalgan lose his composure and use many buffs on himself, becoming an easy target for Jinwoo, who defeats him with his own guardians and turns him into a shadow soldier named Tusk. Additionally, although Cha Hae In entered the dungeon, she could only watch, surprised by Jinwoo’s skill. Jinwoo’s power display puts him in a pinch, but thankfully, Woo Jinchul from the Hunter’s Association, who went to check on the gate, protects his identity.

“Jinwoo cleared the top A-class dungeon all by himself, and after a reevaluation, he became the 10th person in Japan to become S-rank. Despite the attention of many people, including Go Gunhee, Choi Jong In, and Baek Yoon Ho, he once again attempts to conquer the Demon's Castle. The Adaptation Includes Original Scenes to Enhance the Fight Against Kargalgan

While Solo Leveling episode #18 skipped over a scene from the manhwa where Jinwoo runs out of mana, the adaptation once again includes original scenes to make the battle more visually striking, like in the first season during the confrontation against Cerberus. In the anime, Kargalgan uses more spells than in the manhwa, making him more intense and frenetic as they strike even his own soldiers. Also, Jinwoo uses a more roundabout, yet flashier, method to take the dungeon boss down.

In the manhwa, Jinwoo just punches Kargalgan after he increases his size, but in the anime, he uses his ability, Ruler’s Hand, to grab a chain and surround the dungeon’s boss with it. This sequence serves to highlight Jinwoo’s great battle sense as he uses strategy rather than brutal force. This proves how the adaptation makes good use of dynamic animation to find other ways to showcase Jinwoo’s increasing strength. Additionally, the anime added a scene of Choi Jong In being notified of the A-Rank Gate situation and of Kargalgan fighting his elite guards, which makes his defeat more gruesome.
