Warning: Spoilers Ahead for Solo Leveling Episode #3!
Solo Leveling Season 2 - Arise from the Shadow - took Sung Jinwoo once again to the Instant Dungeon introduced in the first season, where he beat the guardian Cerberus during episode #3, titled “Still a Long Way to Go," on January 18, 2025. The anime didn’t show any sign of slowing down its pace in adapting Solo Leveling’s manhwa, covering the entire Demon Castle Arc, which extended from chapter 56 to 61, in only one episode. This means the anime will enter a new story arc this week with the upcoming release of episode 4.
Since episode #2 made evident that Jinwoo won’t be able to hide his rank any longer, and Jinho and the White Tiger Guild’s master Baek Yoon-ho have stated their interest in recruiting him, Solo Leveling Season 2 episode #4 might reveal what Sung Jinwoo expects to do as a hunter from now on.

Although Sung Jinwoo leaves the instant dungeon for now, fans should expect him to come back to reach the top of the Demon Castle and defeat the final boss once he is strong enough and gets the last item he needs for the Elixir of Life. Even so, Jinwoo was already stronger than an A-Rank hunter in the Red Gate Arc, and given all his newly gained experience, it’s safe to predict he is currently an S-Rank. Because of this, the upcoming episode #4 story revealed on the Solo Leveling website teases that Jinwoo will get his rank re-examined in the Hunter’s Association.
To clear the S-rank dungeon "Demon's Castle," Jinwoo realizes he needs to level up even further. Determined to join high-level raids, he decides to undergo a re-examination of his hunter rank. Solo Leveling Season 2 Skips Content from the Manhwa to Reach the Best Parts of the Story
Sung Jinwoo Advances With a High Pace Through the Demon Castle Arc
In Episode #15, the production team of Solo Leveling Season 2 had to overlook several scenes that didn’t affect the future events of the story in order to adapt the Demon Castle arc in only one episode and guarantee this season would cover up to the Jeju Island Arc. One of the scenes skipped in the anime was a conversation between the S-Rank hunter Min Byung-Gyu and Baek Yoon-ho, which disclosed that the ants on Jeju Island are mutating and developing wings. However, this fact was already revealed by Choi Jong-In in episode #13.

Solo Leveling Makes a Big Change From the Manhwa, Leaving Jinwoo a Much Stronger Character
Solo Leveling Season 2 made a significant change in a major event in the Demon Castle to give more meaning to Sung Jinwoo’s journey from the start.
The anime also modified Jinho's heartfelt conversation with Jinwoo and a scene where the Red Gate's incident appears on the news and reporters wonder about the mysterious hunter that saved the White Tiger Guild's members. Likewise, when one of the hunters appears and confirms that Jinwoo was the one who saved them during Jinho's meeting with his dad, a funny scene of Iron getting a weird habit of bringing the head of the defeated opponents to Jinwoo and the moment he proved the Orb of Malice with one of his shadow mages wasn’t adapted either.
Solo Leveling Season 2’s Animation Continues to Surpass Fans’ Expectations
Sung Jinwoo Vs. Vulcan Surprises Viewers with Excellent Battle Choreography
Although Solo Leveling Season 2 skipped content from the Demon Castle Arc, the adaptation includes the important aspects of the dungeon naturally while also doing justice to the action-packed scenes of Jinwoo fighting the dungeon bosses. One aspect that is lost when translating the manhwa to animation is the introspection and Jinwoo’s train of thought while facing the monsters; however, thanks to the brilliant battle choreography, it's easy for the viewers to understand his strategy.
Additionally, while this episode doesn’t have the same high quality as the first two, as those were originally produced to be released as part of the film Solo Leveling ReAwakening, which guarantees a more detailed production, episode #15's difference wasn’t as noticeable, proving the dedication of A-1 Pictures in delivering a satisfying adaptation. This creates anticipation for the upcoming fights, so Solo Leveling fans should keep an eye open and enjoy the episodes to come as Jinwoo continues to level up.
