Deadline reports Maika Monroe will re-team with Watcher director Chloe Okuno on Brides, a horror film set in 1960’s Italy. The story follows “Sally Bishop (Monroe) and her husband” as they “travel to a remote villa in the wake of Sally’s nervous breakdown. The villa’s owner, a mysterious count, takes a peculiar interest in Sally. But he gets far more than he anticipated when Sally’s feminist chaos is added to his perfect, violent Eden of vampire brides.”


Emily The Strange

Deadline also reports J.J. Abrams is attached to produce an animated feature based on Rob Reger’s character/mascot, Emily the Strange. Pamela Ribon is attached to write the screenplay.


Spookies II: Spookier

Meanwhile, Bloody-Disgusting reports special effects artists Gabriel Bartalos (Leprechaun, Frankenhooker) and Vincent J. Guastini (Dogma, Requiem for a Dream) will return for the sequel to the 1986 horror film, Spookies.


The Chronicles Of Narnia

According to Bloomberg, Greta Gerwig’s Chronicles Of Narnia movie at Netflix may receive both a theatrical and IMAX release, instead.


Smile 3

During a recent interview with Collider, Smile and Smile 2 director Parker Finn suggests “there are a lot of interesting roads” a third movie could go down.

Well, I will say this, I think there are a lot of interesting roads that any future Smile could go down. For me, I love all the stuff that goes bump in the night, and all the really frightening things of the big concept of Smile and the Smiler.
