Tom Welling Makes Rare Appearance With Wife Jessica at Sundance Film Festival
It’s a bird, it’s a plane—it’s Tom Welling on a red carpet.
The Smallville alum made a rare red carpet appearance with his wife Jessica Rose Lee Welling at the premiere of his upcoming film Chasing Summer at Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
For the Jan. 26 event, Tom wore matching brown pants and shirt, a black and white polka dot scarf tied around his neck all under a black wool coat.
Jessica, meanwhile, donned a long-sleeved black dress, styling the look with a chunky black ring and her blonde hair done in an updo, two pieces framing her face.
The outing marks a rare occasion for the couple, who tied the knot in 2019. The last time Tom and Jessica—who share kids Thomson, 7, and Rocklin, 4—stepped out for pictures at an event together was in 2021, four months after welcoming their second child.
While at the premiere for Chasing Summer—which, in addition to Tom, stars Lola Tung, Megan Mullally and Cassidy Freeman—Jessica shared a video of her husband and costar Iliza Schlesinger, who also wrote the film’s screenplay.
In the clip, Iliza and Tom pose for photos together on the carpet before Iliza leaned in and told the camera, “I kissed your husband in the movie, but he was really sweaty. It was like kissing a honey baked ham.”

Jessica quipped in response, “This is nothing I don’t know,” and ultimately captioned her post, “What it’s like to kiss my husband in the middle of St. Louis summer, according to @ilizas.”
But the day didn't mark just the film's premiere: It was also Jessica's birthday, and Tom made sure his wife felt the love.
Taking to Instagram, the Cheaper by the Dozen star shared a snap of him kissing his wife on the forehead while Jessica smiled at the camera. He captioned the Jan. 26 post, “The *universe became a better place when you arrived ! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE.”
Jessica noted the post was “the cutest” in the comments, adding, “I love you so much, you make everything wonderful!!”
