Skye Wheatley shares video of herself after a big night out following her drink driving case - as she moves in with her mother after hitting rock bottom

Skye Wheatley has shared footage of herself arriving at her mother's home after a big night out, following her recent court appearance. 

The Big Brother Australia star was banned from driving for five months and fined $700 on Monday after pleading guilty to being in charge of a motor vehicle while over the alcohol limit. 

In the video, Skye is seen returning home, before offering her fans an explanation. 

'It's really hard going home to your mum's house at 11:00 o'clock at night when you are in your 30s! It's just not 5am,' a tired-looking Skye told fans.

'Do you know what else is stupid? Not making earlier dinner reservations because I'm absolutely pooped!'

Skye was then seen arriving at her mother's front door and opening it up, as she joked that it made her feel like a teenager.

'Oh wait... I feel like a 15-year-old girl!' she joked. 

She later posted another clip in which she spoke out about a recent sleeping mishap. 

'Guys, last night I fell asleep with my dome LED lamp over my stomach. I woke up with it still there, that is how tired I was!' she said, adding that she was eating gummy lollies to help keep her awake.

It has been a challenging few weeks for the former reality TV star.

On Monday, the Southport Magistrates Court heard that police found the former Big Brother Australia star passed out inside her car at a McDonald's on the Gold Coast after she drank a bottle of Jim Beam in the vehicle over the course of a few hours. 

Skye returned a blood-alcohol reading of 0.119 after officers tapped on the vehicle's windows and woke her up, at which point they detected a 'strong smell of liquor coming from the vehicle'.

Her lawyer, Belinda Robinson, told the court Skye had flown to Melbourne on August 8 and was sleep-deprived when she returned home to the Gold Coast late. 

Robinson said the mother-of-two, who recently called time on her relationship with long-time partner Lachlan Waugh, had been experiencing anxiety and depression about coming home and had barely eaten for a week before the incident. 

Skye pleaded guilty to being in charge of a motor vehicle while over the middle alcohol limit.

Robinson told the court that Skye was upset about 'coming home to an empty house' before making the trip to McDonald's for a Frozen Coke drink. 

Police prosecutor Darcey Hugonnet was dubious about Robinson's claim that Skye was sober when she arrived at the fast food venue and had purchased a bottle of Jim Beam at a nearby bottle shop before drinking in her car. 

Acting Magistrate Mark Whitbread also shared his doubts with the court. 

'It sounds unbelievable to me, having heard many of these things over the years,' he said.

'I simply can't see how that could be accepted.'

In mitigation, Robinson said Skye had taken steps to address her mental health and her relationship with alcohol since the incident. 

The court heard she had participated in a police program since August 20, consulted a psychologist and begun taking medication for anxiety and depression.
