Sister Wives season 19 has brought new dynamics for the entire Brown family, but Robyn Brown’s relationships with her former sister wives Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown have been complicated from the start. Throughout the run of Sister Wives, it’s been clear that Kody Brown and each of his wives have different dynamics between them, as well as amongst each other. While Christine, Janelle, and Meri have been moving through their respective splits from Kody in different ways, their relationships with Robyn have changed in far different ways due to the consistent issues they’ve faced in the past.
Throughout Sister Wives season 19, there have been moments of tension for Robyn and her ex-sister wives, though they’ve rarely been together on screen. While Kody’s ex-wives have been clear that they're interested in moving forward from their relationships with the patriarch, but the family being splintered in such a way has been tough on Robyn. As the only remaining wife, Robyn has been tasked with standing by Kody’s actions and trying to communicate his genuine intentions with others, but her loyalty has caused her relationships to suffer. Robyn’s connections to her former sister wives have been tricky to navigate.
Robyn’s Had A Tough Time Competing With Christine
They Were Both Once The Youngest, Newest Wife
Although Christine was the first to leave Kody during Sister Wives season 17, she was the second-to-last wife to join the Brown family. While Kody married Meri, then Janelle, Christine was the third to join the plural family and took the role as the youngest, newest wife in the group. Gaining the majority of Kody’s attention, Christine was the Brown family patriarch’s favorite, but things quickly fizzled out. When Robyn joined the family, Christine felt jealous and the pair have had that running through their relationship since the beginning. Christine and Robyn tolerate each other, but don’t feel much affection.
The Pair Has Rarely Gotten Along
While Robyn has always had a somewhat contentious relationship with Christine, her relationship with Janelle has been less enthusiastic overall. Janelle, who’s about a decade older than Robyn, didn’t find a lot of common ground with Kody’s youngest wife when she joined the family. While Janelle and Robyn have always been cordial, Janelle has cited her control over the family’s finances as part of the reason why she doesn’t get along as well with Robyn. While the pair aren’t contentious, they aren’t friendly, either. Janelle and Robyn’s relationship has never been something either of them has tried to foster.
Robyn’s Relationship With Meri Has Changed Drastically
Once Close, They’ve Basically Become Strangers
Although Meri and Robyn have been close in the past, their relationship has faced a drastic change since Meri chose to leave the family in 2022. While Meri has always been a fan of Robyn and a proponent of her marriage to Kody, things shifted after a few years. Meri originally welcomed Robyn into the family and bought into the connection she shared with the younger woman, but when Sister Wives star Robyn began to take all of Kody’s attention, it was hurtful.
