EXCLUSIVE: New Zealand actress Simone Kessell (Yellowjackets) has joined the cast of the upcoming Amazon MGM dramedy Honeymoon with Harry, opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, Kevin Costner, Sarah Pidgeon, Rita Ora and Orville “Shaggy” Burrell.
No word on the role to be played by Kessell.
Currently in production in Australia, Honeymoon with Harry is based on the bestselling novel by Bart Baker. The story follows a rough-around-the-edges man (Gyllenhaal) who ends up sharing an unwanted journey with his fiancée’s prickly, overprotective father (Costner) after a life-altering turn upends their plans.
Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are directing from a script by Dan Fogelman. Producers include Fogelman, Mike Karz via Gulfstream Pictures and Jennifer Salke via her recently launched Sullivan Street Productions banner.
Kessell can most recently be seen in Apple TV’s The Last Frontier and previously starred in Showtime’s Yellowjackets and Paramount+’s Hard Home, along with Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi, ABC’s The Crossing and Netflix’s Pine Gap. She next stars in Amazon’s action thriller Subversion alongside Chris Hemsworth and Lily James.
Other credits for Kessell include Brad Peyton’s San Andreas, The Lovers opposite Josh Hartnett, HBO Max’s Our Flag Means Death, Steven Spielberg-produced Terra Nova as well as the Australian drama series Wellmania, Wonderland and Critical Incident.
