Disney Dreamlight Valley is a cozy enough game that allows players to interact with their favorite Disney characters, and Minnie Mouse may no longer be considered among those favorites. Disney Dreamlight Valley players are sharing their frustrations over a quest the iconic character gives players that's considered a dreaded fetch quest by some.
Redditor Scaleficent sparked a heated conversation on the Dreamlight Valley subreddit after asking other players about the "Remembering Old Times" quest that Minnie gives. The quest entails finding an intense amount of resources the player has to bring back to Minnie. Scaleficent not so affectionately suggested it should be renamed to, "Ridonkulous Amount of Materials."
Dreamlight Valley players are no strangers to gathering resources; however, a big part of the game is building your own home in the valley and other structures to progress. Still, this quest from Minnie sparked some strong feelings, and the thread seemed almost cathartic to some.
Minnie Mouse Is Asking A Lot Of Disney Dreamlight Valley Players
It's A Lot Of Material Just For One Item
At the heart of the ire of Disney Dreamlight Valley players is the sheer amount of resources Minnie tasks them to get to craft the Rustic Clock Tower. Players need to get: 100 stones, 100 pieces of hardwood, 30 iron ingots, and 200 pieces of clay. Redditor theweebird called this quest a "rite of passage", as all players committed to the game have to slog through it. It's a challenge that makes the game a huge undertaking for any player, even for complete beginners in Dreamlight Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: Every Reward Item With Sally (Sew Delightful Update)
Disney Dreamlight Valley is finishing the year strong with Sally’s introduction, which brings a number of new reward items for players to earn.
Redditor Zephryn talked about their challenge of doing this quest before the developers increased the drop rates of items, saying, "It was so painful lol. I wanted to yeet Minnie into the afterlife but I also really wanted that dang dress." This highlights the main problem fans had with the quest, they really wanted the reward, even if the work to get there was a terrible slog. Players have a hard time finding some of their items, and Scaleficient's anger at Minnie mirrors another player who booted Buzz and Woody off their island, making a mock "memorial" in their place.
Our Take: Is This A Rite Of Passage, Or A Tedious Gathering Quest In Dreamlight Valley?
Fetch Quests Often Test The Player's Patience For The Game
Fetch quest, gathering quest, whatever you call it, these quests are infamous for testing the player's patience. Sometimes designed with the idea that it will force the player to explore more of the world and get creative, like players using floating islands for item storage, they often end up a waste of time. In this case, it's hard to call this quest a rite of passage unless you're joking, but sometimes these kinds of quests do become just that, as players bond over their anger toward it.
In this case, the items could probably be toned down, but it did result in the Dreamlight Valley community coming together to express their frustration in a fun way. Redditor ghostbean87 shared their revenge on Minnie by describing how they put the clock tower across from Minnie's house to remind her of this ridiculous quest. Of course, in-game Minnie has no idea what's going on, but for players, it's a fun way to balance the scales and keep engaging with the game on their own terms.
