Shifting Gears Season 3 Officially Sets Major Sitcom Reunion After 9 Years

Shifting Gears season 3 will deliver a sitcom reunion that’s been nearly a decade in the making.

Since the beginning of 2025, Kat Dennings has starred on the ABC sitcom as Riley Parker, the daughter of Tim Allen’s Matt Parker. Prior to Shifting Gears, Dennings’ most well-known TV show was arguably 2 Broke Girls, which ran from 2011 to 2017 on CBS. Today brings word that one of the actor’s co-stars from the older sitcom is stopping by Shifting Gears season 3.

Variety reports that Beth Behrs, who played Caroline Channing opposite Dennings’ Max Black on 2 Broke Girls, will guest star in an upcoming episode of Shifting Gears. Behrs has been tapped to play Dr. Johnson, a “beautiful emergency room doctor” who treats Riley, Dennings’ character, for a back injury. This will be the first time these two have acted together since CBS canceled 2 Broke Girls after six seasons.
