Mrs Hinch shared an emotional update after 'disgusting' thieves broke into her mother's home and stole jewellery which belonged to her late father Alan, nearly two years after his death.

On Tuesday, the cleaning influencer, 35, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, revealed her mother's home in Maldon, Essex, was targeted, and she took to her Instagram story to call out the 'cowardly' individuals.

Now, sharing an update following the shocking incident, Sophie said her mother feels like she's 'taken a step back' and has been left 'shaken' by the whole ordeal.

Speaking about her mother to The Sun, she said: 'She’s understandably shaken. We all are. She’s being incredibly strong.

'The jewellery holds deep sentimental value to her, particularly as a connection to my dad, and that’s what hurts most right now.

'More than anything, I just want to be able to get the jewellery back for my mum.'

Elsewhere in the interview, Sophie revealed that she has asked her mother to move in with her temporarily.

However, her mother values her independence and enjoys being in her own home, which Sophie understands and respects, so the family are allowing her to 'lead the way' with any decisions.

Sophie, who announced her father's death on Instagram in May 2024, a month after he was hospitalised with respiratory issues, also shared that the stolen rings were a meaningful link to her father, and losing them has 'brought up a lot of emotions'.

So, she hopes the jewellery will be found and safely returned to her mother's home, where they belong.

Elsewhere in the interview, Sophie shared an update on whether or not there had been any leads in the burglary.

She revealed the police are aware and are 'fully involved' and supporting where they can, while the area is also being watched over and camera footage is being investigated.

It comes after Sophie took to her Instagram on Tuesday to call out the individuals for 'ripping away what little her grieving mother had left' and issued a plea for the sentimental jewellery to be returned.

'I can't believe I'm writing this. To the vile individuals who broke into my parents' home in Maldon today, 27th January, between 10am and 6pm,' she wrote.

The influencer issued a plea for the sentimental jewellery to be returned as she shared a photo of the gold wedding band

'You broke into a grieving woman's home and stole her jewellery! Items that belonged to my late dad. Sentimental, irreplaceable pieces that you had NO right to touch.

'Let me be very clear!!! This WILL NOT be dropped. That jewellery may be worthless to you, but it's priceless to my mum. She has already lost her husband and is trying to piece her life together, and you chose to violate her home and rip away what little she had left of him.

'You knew exactly what you were doing. This is beyond theft!! It is cruel, disgusting, and cowardly.'

Daily Mail has contacted Essex Police for comment.

The influencer - who has 4.8 million followers on Instagram - previously spoke about the heartbreaking loss of her father.

She told The Sun last November: 'I feel like I've been in hibernation

'I don't really know how to talk about grief. I can't put it into words. One minute, you feel crazy because it's changed my life beyond words. Me, my family and the dynamic – everything has changed, but everything still just carries on.

'People think you are OK, but you're not. It's the club no one wants to be part of, but once you are in, then you can't get out.'
