Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco Share Adorable BTS Footage from Their Engagement
Selena Gomez's heart wants what it wants.
While basking in her engagement to Benny Blanco, the Emilia Perez actress reflected on what his proposal means to her.
"Sorry last post," she captioned a video of her ring-adorned hand as she squealed in the background on Instagram Stories Dec. 19. "I've just dreamed of this moment my whole life."
Selena’s latest post comes over a week after she announced her engagement to the music producer.
Indeed, on Dec. 11, the "Who Says" singer shared a four-photo slideshow that showed off her marquise-cut diamond ring, her smiling as she held her ring in front of her face, being embraced by Benny after the proposal and sitting on a picnic blanket where he presumably proposed.
A few days later, Benny shared a behind-the-scenes look at their big moment, which appeared to take place as they enjoyed a Taco Bell and champagne-fueled picnic on a professionally-lit soundstage made to look like a park.
The couple received an overwhelming amount of congratulatory messages from other stars like Taylor Swift, Steve Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Cardi B, Lil Nas X and Lily Collins, among many others, after announcing the news.
While they started dating in the summer of 2023, they'd actually met one another nearly two decades prior and had worked together on the song "I Can't Get Enough" five years earlier.

"We both met each other like almost 16, 17 years ago," Benny recalled in an April interview with SiriusXM Hits 1. “Obviously, we made a bunch of songs together. But before we had made any music together, I was one of her big meetings—like right around when she was just leaving Disney to make her own music."
"I guess it was a big meeting at the time," he continued. "Then we wound up making songs after. She's the best."

In fact, the couple ironically started dating after collaborating on Selena's track "Single Soon," and the fact that things took a romantic turn between them took them both by surprise.
"It was so crazy," Benny told Howard Stern in May, "when we went out on our first date, I didn't even know it was a date. She was like, 'Hey, you want to hang out?' And I was like, 'Yeah.'"
"I remember we were talking," he added, "and she's such a forward person and she's like the coolest, the nicest, the sweetest, everything. And I remember sitting there and she's like, 'Well I would've worn something different for this date.' And I was like, 'What? We're on a date?'"

Blossoming Romance
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco began dating in July 2023, around Selena's birthday, Benny said on the Howard Stern Show in May 2024.
But they only began to spark romance rumors in late 2023. That December, Selena confirmed the speculation, commenting on a fan page's Instagram post, regarding Benny, "He is my absolute everything in my heart."
She continued, "Why has he been the best thing that's ever happened to me. He's still better than anyone I've ever been with."
