Selena Gomez was at the center of what some people dubbed 'drama' after seemingly implying the New York Knicks bandwagon had grown to include some famous fans - a group which might have included her longtime pal Taylor Swift.

The Grand Prairie, Texas-born superstar, 33, took to Instagram Stories Wednesday following the Knicks' historic 107-106 comeback over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, where Swift sat front-and-center.

'Happy for NY but my heart breaks just a lil lol,' said Gomez, who plays Mabel Mora on the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building. 'Congrats to the peep that represent! What a comeback. so funny how some are all the sudden fans though lol.'

The actress-singer showed she was no sudden Spurs supporter, with a series of images of herself sporting team gear over the years, including a childhood picture posing next to a cutout of Spurs icon and NBA Hall-of-Famer Tim Duncan.

It was not immediately clear who Gomez - who subsequently deleted the post about the 'sudden' fans - might have been referring to.

Other celebs on hand for the game included Spike Lee, Larry David, Mariska Hargitay, Adam Sandler, Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet and Ben Stiller, among others.

Swift, pictured attending Game 4 on Wednesday, said in 2014 that her Knicks fandom traced back to performing at Madison Square Garden at 'a Kids Talent Competition at halftime when I was 12 or 13'

On the subreddit r/Fauxmoi, a user posted a GIF of a person having a meltdown with the caption: 'Selena after going more than 1 day without starting drama.'

Others said Gomez wasn't trying to stir up anything with the observation, with one commenter noting, 'This isn’t even a big deal ... it’s only drama if you make it drama.'

Another asked, 'How is this starting drama? Like seriously what drama could arise from this instagram story.'

Swift's Knicks fandom was also scrutinized after her longtime friend's observation, as one user remarked, 'lol isn’t one of those sudden fans her best friend? Lol.'

Others posted images of Swift decked out in Knicks gear dating back a dozen years, as the Shake It Off singer herself explained her fondness for the NBA franchise in a November 2014 Time magazine interview.

Swift said she was 'totally' a fan of the team and didn't care they were slumping at that time.

'Why does that matter?' Swift said, noting how she had spent time with former Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire and his then-wife Alexis at the Met Gala.

'I’ve always had this sort of love of the Knicks, just because Amar’e is so cool,' she said. 'And also I performed at the Knicks' - at Madison Square Garden's - Kids Talent Competition at halftime when I was 12 or 13.

'And ever since then I’ve had this kind of sparkly, magical opinion of Madison Square Garden and the Knicks, since they let me sing when I was a little kid.'

Fans on Reddit didn't need too much persuasion, as one said she's 'pretty knicks down' while another paraphrased Shaquille O'Neal in saying, 'I need to apologize to Taylor, I wasn't familiar with her game.'

Some fans stood by Gomez in her statement, with one stating, 'I agree with her. Most of the celebs who went probably don’t like basketball and only wanted to be seen.'

Another added, 'How Selena is saying it here is actually pretty tame and she's clearly making a jab at Knicks fans in general because she chose to post a pic of herself in Spurs s***.

'I stan a queen who s***s on the opposing fanbase.'
