Mariah Carey Addresses Rumors That Her Spotify Wrapped Video Was AI
Mariah Carey already received the perfect Christmas gift.
The Grammy-winning artist was in the middle of her “Mariah Carey’s Christmas Time” performance in North Carolina, Dec. 9 when her 13-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan—whom she shares with ex Nick Cannon—made a surprise appearance on the stage.
One of Mariah’s music directors paused the show to let the singer know that her hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You” has—as it does every holiday season—once again reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In honor of the moment, Monroe and Moroccan walked out and hugged their mother as they presented her with a large bouquet of flowers.
After the sweet exchange, Mariah told fans, as seen in her post documenting the moment, “That was the perfect moment to find that out. Thank you, everybody who helped make that possible. Thank you so much."
And the moment had Mariah feeling all of the emotions.
“I couldn’t have dreamed of a better time or place to celebrate the news than on stage with my amazing fans, my kids and my #ChristmasTime family,” the 55-year-old captioned her Dec. 10 Instagram post. “I love you and am so grateful to you all.”
“All I Want For Christmas Is You” has spent a total of 15 weeks at number 1. This year makes a record-setting sixth consecutive time the 1994 classic has reigned supreme on the charts.
The Queen of Christmas kicked off her 20-date run of holiday-themed shows—where she performs the hits—in November and will end Dec. 17, right in time for Christmas.
Ahead of the tour, the “Emotions” singer teased what fan can expect from the tour and her kid’s involvement.
“I’m so excited about everything to do with this tour,” Mariah told E! News in November. “It really gets me into the Christmas spirit. The kids say they’re going to be in the show, I can’t talk about it anymore. Because you know, they’re 13 now so they kinda do their own thing.”
And Mariah’s daughter Monroe is already setting herself up to follow in her mother’s footsteps.
“I think she’s leaning towards singing and acting as well,” she told E! News. “There’s a lot of advice to be given. I’m super protective of my kids but I also try to let them be their own people.”
