The new serial killer film Psycho Killer is just days away from being released on digital platforms.

20th Century Studios just revealed that the digital release date for Psycho Killer is April 7. The film will be available on platforms like Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. A physical release on DVD and Blu-ray has not been announced yet.

Gavin Polone directed the 2026 horror movie from a script by Andrew Kevin Walker. Before this, Polone was an executive producer on shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Gilmore Girls; a producer on Panic Room, Zombieland, and A Dog's Purpose; and directed episodes of Jane By Design, Twisted, and Finding Carter. Psycho Killer is his feature-length directorial debut.

Walker, meanwhile, is best known for writing the script of the 1995 crime thriller Se7en and Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow, among other projects. His next screenwriting credit is the upcoming vampire thriller Flesh of the Gods with Kristen Stewart and Wagner Moura. The producing team included Walker, Roy Lee, Matt Berenson, and Arnon Milchan.

Georgina Campbell stars in Psycho Killer as a highway patrol officer named Jane Archer, who investigates her own husband's murder as she seeks justice and accountability. Archer soon discovers that the truth might be more than she bargained for, as the serial killer she's hunting has a twisted and depraved agenda that will be hard to defeat. The film is told through the viewpoints of both Archer and the murderer.

Campbell is a BAFTA Award-winning actress who has appeared in Murdered by My Boyfriend, Broadchurch, Black Mirror, Krypton, His Dark Materials, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and Bird Box Barcelona. James Preston Rogers, Malcolm McDowell, Logan Miller, Grace Dove, Nigel Shawn Williams, and David Tomlinson also star in Psycho Killer with Campbell.

When the film was released in February 2026, Psycho Killer debuted at No. 11 on the opening weekend with $1.6 million. In total, the thriller has grossed $2.5 million against a reported budget of $10 million. Reviews for Psycho Killer have been overwhelmingly negative, with the film receiving an initial score of 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. Since then, its rating has risen to just 10%, whereas the current audience score is 37%.

Critics claimed the editing was a disaster with questionable ADR (Additional Dialogue Replacement), and wondered how Walker could go from writing scripts like Se7en to working on a movie like Psycho Killer. The only redeeming quality of this film, according to the critics, was Campbell's performance as Jane Archer.

Even though it underwhelmed at the box office and failed to receive positive reviews, 20th Century Studios is just days away from releasing Psycho Killer on digital platforms, so horror fans will have the chance to watch the thriller from the comfort of their homes.
