An actress who acted with some of the most famous leading men of her generation was glimpsed on the New York subway this week.
After getting her start on the stage, she exploded onto the Hollywood scene as a major character in Scarface alongside Al Pacino.
In the same decade she played opposite Tom Cruise, before acting with Kevin Costner in the 1990s and George Clooney at the dawn of the new millennium.
Now aged 67, the Tony-nominated actress was glimpsed in Manhattan holding a bulging shopping bag as she settled into a seat on the subway.
She wore a stylish ensemble of a pale grey turtleneck and dark slim-fit jeans, warding off the chill of New York winter with a puffer jacket and a set of mittens.

She is none other than Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, who became a star in Scarface as Gina, the sister of Al Pacino's Miami Cuban drug kingpin Tony Montana.
Directed by Brian De Palma from a script by Oliver Stone, the 1983 gangster classic featured Mastrantonio amid a cast that included Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert Loggia, as well as Melanie Griffith's ex-husband Steven Bauer.
Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Mastrantonio studied drama at the University of Illinois before striking out east to New York City to be an actress.
Her ship came in with her Broadway debut in a 1980 revival of West Side Story, when she understudied and then replaced Josie de Guzman as the female lead Maria.
Three years later she burst onto the Hollywood scene with her explosive turn in Scarface as Gina Montana, who has a tempestuous relationship with her brother Tony and his right hand man Manny - played by Bauer - who becomes her love interest.
Mastrantonio's face became known around the country, the wrinkle being that the people who thought they recognized her had often confused her for someone else.
'People say: "You're Amy Irving!"' she told the New York Times in 1989. 'Well, it's the same hair. One cab driver said to me: "You look just like that girl in Scarface - Geena Davis." I guess it's that Geena and I have the same wide-set eyes.'
