It packs six cores, 12 threads, and 96MB of L3 cache that helps maximize gaming performance. With a TDP of 65W, the chip offers base clock speeds of up to 4.1 GHz that can boost up to 4.70 GHz with support for up to 128GB of DDR5-5200 memory, and 24 usable PCIe 5.0 lanes. The CPU can be paired with all AM5 motherboards including A620, X670E, X670, B650E, B650, X870E, X870, B840, and B850. While the chip has a locked multiplier, it does support memory overclocking.

Intel’s newly launched Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, with its $300 price tag, is a solid competitor, but as per our testing, the 7600X3D offers marginally better performance. Additionally, AMD has committed to long-term support for its AM5 platform through 2027 and beyond, unlike Intel’s LGA 1851.
