Sarah Michelle Gellar's son looks just like his father Freddie Prinze Jr. as he celebrates birthday in rare snap

Like father, like son!

The son of Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar is celebrating his 14th birthday and is looking more and more like his famous father.

A rare photo posted by his mother showed the stunning resemblance as she marked Rocky's special day.

The teenager was already the same height as his mother, 49, as he posed beside her, an arm wrapped around her shoulders. 

From his dark hair to height, the youngster had clearly taken after his father, 50, in the gene department. 

'And then, there were two,' Gellar captioned the photo, posted Sunday. 'Three years and one day later @rockyprinze came racing into our lives. I should have known from your speedy delivery, the excitement you would bring. You have no idea how lucky I feel to watch you chase your dream. You inspire not just me, but everyone around you. Happy Birthday Rocky." 

Rocky's birthday comes just one day after his sister Charlotte celebrated her 17th birthday - meaning the family has been particularly festive weekend. 

'Yesterday was my best friend’s birthday,' Gellar wrote in a post marking the occasion. '@charlotteprinze I’m not sure how you are 17 already. You may have been the child that made me a mom, but now you are the person that brings out the best in me. (Not to mention my biggest champion) Thank you… for being you.' 

It comes weeks after Gellar and Prinze marked a major milestone. 

Earlier this month, Gellar commemorated 24 years of marriage in a very sweet way as she took fans on a walk down memory lane.

She took to Instagram to share several throwback snaps from the beginning of her relationship with the 50-year-old hunk.

The happy couple, who have been married for nearly two-and-a-half decades, are now cemented in status as one of Hollywood's longest-lasting love stories.

Gellar and Prinze were friends first and then dated for two years before going on to tie the knot in 2002.

The pair first met on the set of the 1997 horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Gellar included several snaps seemingly from that era.

The actress captioned the gallery: '@realfreddieprinze can you imagine telling these kids where they would be 24 years later (well tech 26… but 24 married) #happyanniversary.'

It has been a wonderful year of celebrating milestones for the couple as Prinze Jr celebrated his 50th birthday in March.

Prinze Jr previously recalled the early days of their relationship at the premiere of the reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer last year.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, he said: 'We were friends for a good couple of years before any sort of date happened.

'We were supposed to go out with a group of people, and everybody else bailed… so it was just the two of us,' Prinze Jr said on The Howard Stern Show.

They dated for a few years before Freddie popped the question in 2001.

The couple has never revealed the details of the proposal with Gellar previously saying: 'I didn't want a big public proposal. I wanted something private.'

After getting married, the pair also worked together on a number of projects including the live-action Scooby-Doo movie, which was released in 2002, as well as the 2004 sequel, Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed.

The pair also both voice acted in the 2006 animated film Happily N'Ever After.

A few years later, they expanded their family, welcoming Charlotte, their first child, in 2009 and then Rocky in 2012.
