If you're looking to upgrade your home entertainment setup with a large screen but have limitations where a television simply won't work, there are several new options you'll want to pay attention to.

Samsung has announced the addition of two new ultra short throw projectors to its lineup – the Premiere 9 and The Premiere 7. These projectors make any space a home cinema, Samsung says, and project up to a 130-inch screen.

Both projectors utilize something called "Triple Laser Technology," which Samsung explains makes for more enhanced color and brightness than previous models, and both have 4K AI upscaling and built-in speakers with Dolby Atmos technology, so you won't need any external speakers.

If you're a gamer, you'll enjoy the addition of the Samsung Gaming Hub, a service that lets you access more than 3,000 titles without a console.

The Premier 9 and Premier 7 run on Samsung's Tizen OS, meaning you'll have access to streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. When you're not using it as a projector, either device doubles as a smart speaker with hands-free voice control and access to the SmartThings hub that enables you to control your home's smart devices.

What's the difference between the two? The Premier 9 is a decent amount brighter, with a maximum brightness of 3,450 ISO lumens compared to the 2,500 maximum ISO lumens of the Premier 7, and the Premier 9 can display up to 130 inches compared to the Premier 7's 120-inch maximum. The Premier 9 also brings a significant audio boost, boasting 40W 2.2.2 channel up-firing speakers. The Premier 7 has 30W 2.2 channel speakers.

Setup is simple, Samsung says; the only work required is to plug in the projector and connect it to your wireless network.

Both projectors are available for purchase now. The Premiere 9 will retail for $5,999, and the Premiere 7 for $2,999. Buy either by Sept. 15, and you'll get a free Freestyle 2nd Gen with Gaming Hub, (a $799.99 value) a device that we named our best projector of 2024. For comparison, televisions of the size these projectors can display can cost upwards of $20,000.
