Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra leaks have stepped up a gear lately, moving on from just claims about the phone, to detailed and sometimes seemingly official imagery, with the latest such leak taking the form of a seemingly official marketing image.
Shared by Evan Blass – a leaker with a superb track record – this image shows off the rumored new camera design of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and between that and previous leaks, we have a good idea of what camera changes to expect from this phone.
So below, we’ve detailed five likely changes to the cameras that we might get with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
1. There could be a new housing
The various leaked images we’ve seen of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra – including this latest one and the one above from @OnLeaks and Android Headlines – suggest the camera housing might get a bit of a redesign, with three of the lenses seemingly set to be housed in a distinct raised platform.
That’s in contrast to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra where all four lenses jut out of the back individually – though one of the lenses and the laser autofocus are still shown to match the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s design, and raised platform aside, the layout of the lenses and sensors looks the same.
2. It might have a megapixel upgrade
According to one source, the Samsung Galaxy S26, Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will all have upgraded 3x telephoto cameras, with 12MP sensors in place of the 10MP ones used by the Samsung Galaxy S25 series.
This would also apparently be a larger 1/2.55-inch sensor, so these things combined would likely lead to more detailed images, and better performance in low-light situations.
It’s worth noting that not all sources agree that the Galaxy S26 series will get this upgrade though, so while it may well do, we can’t be at all certain.
3. The main camera could have a new lens
Most sources suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will have a 200MP main camera, just like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be any changes to it.
For example, one source has suggested that this Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra camera will have a new lens.
Assuming this rumored new lens is superior, that could allow this camera to capture sharper images with improved color accuracy, among other potential benefits. The lenses on phones don’t often get much attention, but in fact they can have a huge impact on overall image quality.
4. It might have a larger sensor
As well as a new lens, the main Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra camera might also have a larger sensor.
This could improve overall image quality and prove especially beneficial in poor lighting, with less noise evident in images.
Along with lens quality the sensor size is another aspect of the camera that has a major impact on the photos you take, so if the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s main camera has both of these upgrades, it could be significantly improved.
5. There’ll likely be improved image processing
As well as the hardware changes and improvements above, it’s likely that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s cameras will have changes and improvements to their image processing.
In practice, according to reputable leaker @UniverseIce, this could mean more realistic colors and improvements to how the sky appears in images, with less noise and fewer “abnormal stripes”.
There may well be other improvements to the processing too, so even with cameras where the hardware hasn’t changed, there’s a good chance the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will be able to take better pictures.
