Relationships are filled with plenty of ups and downs. After all, like Joy Division said, “love will tear us apart.” Despite having the potential to completely devastate and demolish us, humans can’t seem to break away from the desire to love and be loved. But when love takes a wrong turn, things can go off the rails quickly. This spring, Jorma Taccone (MacGruber) will return to filmmaking after a decade away with his ode to a messy breakup through Over Your Dead Body. Starring Jason Segel (Shrinking) and Samara Weaving (Ready or Not 2: Here I Come), the comedy thriller serves as an English-language remake of Tommy Wirkola’s 2021 title, The Trip, and pits a couple at one another’s throats — literally. Today, as part of Collider’s Exclusive Preview event, we’ve got a brand-new look at the movie, which is slated for a theatrical debut on April 24.

Over Your Dead Body follows a couple (Segel, Weaving), who take what should be a romantic getaway to a forested cabin. While there, their animosity towards one another grows to a fever pitch, and it’s revealed that both parties were hoping to use this time away as an opportunity to murder the other. When their plans come to light, all hell breaks loose, and it’s anyone’s guess which member of the unhappy couple will be the last person standing. In addition to Segel and Weaving, the movie also features a supporting lineup that includes Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers), Timothy Olyphant (Alien: Earth), Keith Jardine (She Rides Shotgun), and Paul Guilfoyle (The Good Fight).

The struggle for survival is already in full swing in our exclusive image from Over Your Dead Body. Bruised and bloodied, Weaving’s character wears all black and sits in the basement of (presumably) the couple’s rental cabin, where she’s flanked by Lewis and Olyphant’s weapon-wielding characters on either side. From what we’ve previously seen in the film’s trailer, we know that a handful of other characters get mixed up in the madness, but this shot doesn’t make it entirely clear whose side they’re on.
