Sam Fender has blasted the high ticket prices for his newly announced tour as he assured fans that costs will be slashed.

The singer, 32, announced his Proper Massive Stadium Tour earlier this week, which will visit Newcastle, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, Dublin and Manchester in summer 2027.

With tickets still yet to go on sale, fans have been speculating the pricing levels on social media.

One user claimed tickets at Wembley Stadium would be split into 'front standing', costing £130.75 (€156), and 'standing', which was priced at £98.85 ((€117).

They also said ticket prices for seating would range between £64.75 (€77) and £130.75 ((€156) at the venue.

Responding to the post about the reported pricing, Sam commented that he was 'not happy'.

With tickets still yet to go on sale, fans have been speculating the pricing levels on social media, with the singer hitting out at the reported costs

He wrote: 'They're getting changed.

'It got inflated well more than I'd had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on.

'The standing will not be split as well, I had no idea about it. I have no idea how this was normalised in gigs.

'It's bo****ks and it won't be happening on this tour.'

Thrilled fans replied to the musician thanking him for taking action.

They penned: 'Brilliant from Sam Fender here. Does prove to you that artists can have an influence on things, some are just incredibly greedy,'

'Sam fender lowering the ticket prices and getting rid of the front standing split a man of the people,'

'More artist should speak out like this. Massive credit to him,'

'So right!! And it proves that artists really CAN do stuff to curb ticket prices, well in Sam,'

Earlier this year, Sam and Olivia Dean smashed a chart record held by Wet Wet Wet as their song Rein Me In became the longest-running No1 single by a British act.

After a record-breaking 16-week run in the top spot, it surpassed the band's song Love Is All Around (1994), which previously held the record.

Sam released the track more than a year ago on his solo album and he said watching its success has been 'ridiculous' and an 'excuse to party'.

He jokingly added: 'Take that, Marti Pellow!'

He also credited Olivia, saying: 'Olivia putting the alternative narrative on it made the song really universal – that opened the floodgates. There's two sides to the story. And, it's a toe tapper! It's officially a banger!'
