'On our visit a couple weeks back, we accidentally unveiled Welshpool in his new home at the stadium. I was as surprised as anyone to see it there,' the actor declared.

A slow motion video shared in Reynolds' Instagram Stories shows the shock surprise.

Photos show star player Mighty Paul Mullen, who played Welshpool in the hit film, modeling the costume on the set with Reynolds dressed as Deadpool, and he confirmed Mullen was the model for the glass box display.

'Before folks ask, yes, @paulmullin12 has to live inside a harshly lit, airless glass box, but that’s only because he didn’t read his Deadpool & Wolverine contract very well,' the leading man explained, adding, 'Particularly the parts I wrote in crayon. ⚔️⚽️⚔️'

A photo with Reynolds, Mullen and Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney showed that the footballer got some time out of the box, at least on game day.

A snap shared in the star's Instagram Stories explained that 'In the event of a penalty shootout, @wrexham_afc reserves the right to deploy the Welshpool.'

So far the team is in second place in Football League One, just the longtime rivals Stockport.

Other photos show special guests who have shared time in the owners' box with Reynolds and McElhenney, including actress Eva Longoria, 49. and wife Blake Lively, 37.

Celebrities who have traveled to Wales to watch the team include actress Eva Longoria

Reynolds' wife Blake Lively has shown her support for the team. The actress has been inundated with criticism about how she has promoted It Ends With Us, and with rumors about an alleged feud with her leading man and director Justin Baldoni

The actress has come under fire for the way she promoted her latest film, It Ends With Us, which focuses on marriage marred by domestic abuse, and for her rumored feud with co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

After being criticized online, the actress has received some support from her sister, actress Robyn Lively, her brother-in-law actor Bart Johnson and now San Francisco Chronicle reviewer Mick LaSalle.

In his article printed Sunday, the journalist compared the domestic abuse portrayed in the film to the abuse Lively has received from detractors.

'The people on social media right now doing their best to destroy the career of a talented actress, who happens to be doing the best work of her life, need to look within and stop patting themselves on the back,' LaSalle wrote. 'They’re more like the husband in the movie, not the wife.'
