NBC is lining up three back-to-back episodes of Saturday Night Live from the end of February.

Ryan Gosling is returning to host the show on March 7 with Gorillaz as musical guest. He will follow the previously announced Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie, who is hosting on February 28 alongside Mumford & Sons.

The third episode in this run, on March 14, currently does not have a host or musical guest set.

It will be Gosling’s fourth time hosting the show and comes ahead of the launch of his latest film, Project Hail Mary, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, which is released on March 20.

He first hosted in December 2015, followed by September 2017 and April 2024.

During his last hosting stint, ostensibly to promote The Fall Guy, he broke character a number of times during the episode, most notably during a Beavis and Butt-Head sketch. He also brought out Emily Blunt and former SNL star Kate McKinnon returned for another Close Encounters sketch.

That episode earned Gosling his first Emmy nomination in the Guest Actor In a Comedy Series category, and attracted the show’s biggest audience in years with 8.9M viewers after seven days, according to NBCUniversal, the largest audience the Lorne Michaels-created show had had since Billie Eilish hosted in December 2021.

It also marks the debut for British animated band Gorillaz, which was formed by Blur’s Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. The group is releasing their latest album, The Mountain, on February 27.
