Actor Russell Crowe is returning to the epic world of ancient Rome in the upcoming film, The Last Druid. The film will follow a peaceful Celtic elder (Crowe), who is faced with protecting his family and people from perishing when a merciless Roman Emperor discovers his secluded stronghold in the mountains of Caledonia. This project marks Crowe's return to Rome for the first time in almost 25 years since his acclaimed role as Maximus from Gladiator.
According to Deadline, Crowe has signed on to the Roman project, and additional casting is still underway.
