Rode is awarding $250,000 in prizes to top creators across 22 different categories, with one talented winner taking home $20,000 plus $30,000 worth of additional prizes.

Rode, the Australian mic brand behind popular creator-friendly filmmaking tools like the NTG shotgun series and popular Wireless Go lavalier system, has launched a new contest — the Rode Creator Of The Year Awards.

The competition targets content creators who use Rode products to produce videos on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok across various categories; winners will receive up to $20,000 cash, plus additional prizes. Creators may want to avoid sleeping on this one — that’s a considerable amount of money.

This isn’t the first time Rode has done a creator competition. In the past, opportunities like My Rode Reel and My Rode Cast recognized filmmakers and podcasters who use the company’s products. “Celebrating creators is part of our DNA,” states Rode CEO Damien Wilson in a press release.

How To Enter and What Are the Prizes?

The only eligibility requirement for the competition is that creators must be active on YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram, and content has to be made using Rode products. There are 22 categories for entry, and each will have an individual award, including Adventure and Outdoors, Beauty, Comedy, Fashion, Gear and Tech Reviews, Journalism, Short Film and Documentary, Travel and Lifestyle, and many more.

The top overall prize winner will be named Rode Creator Of The Year and receive $20,000 in cash plus a massive prize pack. There will also be an Emerging Creator Of The Year award for creators who launched their channel within the past year. Each category will have two additional winners as well: a juried winner and a People’s Choice Award, which will be voted on publicly on the competition website. Here is a breakdown of the prizes:

  • Creator of the Year Award — $20,000 cash plus a prize pack worth over $30,000
  • Emerging Creator Of The Year Award — $10,000 cash plus a prize pack worth over $10,000
  • Category Awards — $5,000 cash plus a partner prize pack
  • People’s Choice Category Awards — $5,000 cash plus a partner prize pack

Finally, just by voting in the People’s Choice awards, voters will be entered to win a Rode prize pack.

Creators can find more information and submit their entry on the competition website. Entries must be submitted before October 1, 2024.
