A Rockefeller Center intruder was arrested today after he lunged at Today show host Craig Melvin inside the show’s headquarters, Deadline has confirmed with sources.

Apparently no one was hurt in the incident, which began around 9 a.m. ET. Law enforcement officials told TMZ the man followed Melvin inside the Midtown Manhattan building and, once inside, moved to an area that should not be publicly accessible, where he lunged at the host.

The intruder reportedly initially asked for meteorologist Al Roker after slipping past security. The man then confronted Melvin and lunged while shouting a racial slur. Security then detained the man, who was subsequently arrested.

The incident occurred off-air.

Deadline has reached out to NBC and the NYPD for additional details.
