Rock legend Bret Michaels, 63, cancels ALL of his concerts for the rest of the year after emergency surgery

Bret Michaels has canceled the remainder of his 2026 tour dates and will take the next few months to focus on his health following emergency kidney stone surgery.

In a statement posted to social media, the rocker's team announced Michaels 'still needs additional rest and recovery.'

It comes after the Back in the Day singer, 63, who supported his daughter Raine, 26, for selling pictures of her feet online, powered through his performance at The Bowl in Sugar Hill, Georgia on Friday.

'Following Bret Michaels' comeback show at The Bowl at Sugar Hill, doctors and paramedics determined immediately after the show that he still needs additional rest and recovery from his recent surgeries,' Michaels Entertainment Group revealed in a statement posted to the star's Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Michaels' team informed fans that 'Bret will be taking the next several months off to heal and get back to 100%.'

The musician's doctors also shed light on the situation, stating: 'We will be pulling Bret off the road for the time being.

'He wanted to attempt this show, but we feel there is a much-needed period of rest and slow recovery ahead, especially considering the heat and humidity during the summer months and the effect it can have on his blood sugar level,' they added.

The company expressed their 'deepest apologies' to fans, saying: 'We now look ahead and to Bret being able to return healthy, strong and ready to rock.'

Michaels addressed his fans in the comments, telling them: 'There are not enough words to tell you how much your incredible messages mean to me.'

He explained that in his 'nonstop spirit to go out & do what I love - which is to play music and to see all of you,' he 'may have just chosen to go sooner than I should have.

'And I say this with much love and respect to everybody!' he finished.

The news comes just weeks after Michaels revealed that he had to have emergency surgery for a debilitating kidney stone. 

On July 22, the singer shared on Facebook that he had performed three concerts during a week of 'intense' pain before he got the necessary surgery.

The rocker added that he felt 'complete gratitude' for the hospital staff who took such good care of him.

Accompanying his post was a photo of him lounging in a hospital bed post-procedure, smiling while giving an 'all good' hand sign and wearing his signature cap.

He explained that he experienced seven days of excruciating pain from a kidney stone that would not pass, but he would not let his concert-going fans down either.

Michaels plowed through the July 4 show in Charleston, West Virginia, and the July 11 concert in Grantville, Pennsylvania, along with a special private show at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington, on July 18.

'But immediately, the next day following that show, I was admitted to the hospital, as the pain became too much when the stone would not pass,' Michaels told his followers at the time.

'The operation has been done and is complete & I’m out of post-op recovery, and I’m doing everything within my power to feel better and continue playing great shows for great fans when I've got a complete clean bill of health.'

He added: 'Just want to say on this #WisdomWednesday that I am wise enough to know how important family, friends, fans, doctors and nurses play such a vital role in our everyday health.

'Also just know, they eventually forced me out of my clothes & into a hospital gown lol as I had gone straight from the show to the hospital.'

Michaels was fully booked on his Live and Amplified solo tour before he canceled his remaining concerts.

Back in May, he also canceled his performance at the President Donald Trump–supported Freedom 250 concert, citing growing political divisiveness and security concerns.

However, he previously said he hopes to reunite Poison for a tour in 2027, after the band's previous plans were scrapped.

The hair-metal group – which last toured in 2022 with Def Leppard – was planning to make a return this year with a series of big headlining gigs, but drummer Rikki Rockett recently claimed they gave up on the plan because Michaels wanted the 'lion’s share' of the cash.

Michaels is adamant that a reunion is still on the cards, and he said he had penciled in next year as the time to hit the road.

During an appearance on SiriusXM's Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk in April, he explained: 'We're hoping for '27, 'cause I know it's a big question. I think – I really strongly think '27, without going into details yet, is going to be a good reunion year for Poison. I think it's gonna be awesome.'
