Robert Pattinson has been pretty busy with multiple movies set to release in 2026-2027. Having proven himself to be one of the most versatile actors in the modern Hollywood era, Pattinson's range never ceases to amaze. Keeping that in mind, all 5 of his upcoming projects sound extremely entertaining, with his roles being very different from each other.

Across the board, the next couple of years are looking especially promising for the actor. With major studio blockbusters and prestige dramas on the horizon, Pattinson's upcoming slate is incredibly strong. While some have been generating more excitement than others, each one will no doubt cement his A-list status as one of Hollywood's most compelling and entertaining stars. Keeping that in mind, here's Robert Pattinson's five biggest upcoming movies, ranked by hype (from least to most):

5 Here Comes The Flood

Among Robert Pattinson's upcoming projects, Here Comes the Flood is definitely one of the biggest mysteries. Directed by Fernando Meirelles, the new Netflix film has been described as a heist thriller featuring a bank guard, teller, and master thief who all get caught up in a game of cons and double cons. Pattinson is set to start alongside Denzel Washington and Daisy Edgar-Jones. Pattinson reportedly plays the master thief, Washington the guard, and Edgar-Jones the teller.

However, an official trailer for Here Comes The Flood has yet to be released, despite the movie being expected sometime in 2026. As such, the lack of footage and only a few set photos make it hard to know how excited fans should be, though the premise does sound promising enough.

4 Primetime

Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen with his face appearing on four different TVs in Primetime

Primetime will definitely be one of Robert Pattinson's most interesting challenges. Not only is he set to star as Chris Hansen, the journalist best known for hosting To Catch a Predator, but he's also attached as a producer on the upcoming A24 film.

Exploring the creation and impact of the controversial television series To Catch a Predator, Primetime will be looking at the show and its origins as a cultural phenomenon, as well as the complex ethics behind it. Given the subject matter, the movie has the potential to be both fascinating and understandably uncomfortable. The trailer certainly suggests that Pattinson will play an excellent Hansen, who in real life had several recognizable mannerisms and ways he would consistently interact with said predators on television: "You see how this looks, right?"

Without a doubt, Primetime and playing Chris Hansen should serve as one of Robert Pattinson's most complicated and intense roles yet.

3 Dune: Messiah

Robert Pattinson as Scytale in Dune 3 looking off-screen

At the end of 2026, Robert Pattinson will be joining one of the biggest science-fiction sagas in Hollywood with Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Messiah. Pattinson will play Scytale, one of the primary antagonists seeking to remove Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides from power.

Scytale is a shapeshifter known as a Face Dancer affiliated with the Bene Tleilax, a secretive faction known for its disturbing genetic experimentation. Capable of assuming different identities and voices, Scytale is one of the most fascinating villains in Frank Herbert's original novels.

Mentat Analysis Complete Your Dune Alter Ego

⚔️

Paul Atreides

“I will not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.” You carry the weight of destiny on your shoulders — and somehow, you don’t buckle. You see patterns others miss, sense what’s coming before it arrives, and feel the pull of something greater than yourself. People look to you for answers, and you deliver — but at a cost. You’re learning that the power to see the future doesn’t mean you can control it. Leadership found you whether you wanted it or not.

Visionary Burdened Decisive Prophetic

🔮

Lady Jessica

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.” You’re the most dangerous person in any room — and nobody sees it coming. Your power lies in observation, manipulation of subtle details, and an almost supernatural ability to read people. You play the long game, and you play it well. But beneath the calculated exterior is someone torn between duty and love. When forced to choose between the plan and the people you care about, your heart wins every time.

Calculating Devoted Powerful Conflicted

🏜️

Chani

“You will never lose me. Not to this world, not to any other.” You don’t need a title or a prophecy to define you — you define yourself through action. You’re fiercely independent, deeply rooted in your community, and skeptical of anyone who promises salvation. You’ve survived by being smart, tough, and uncompromising. You love deeply but you don’t lose yourself in it. The desert made you who you are, and you wouldn’t trade that for all the water in the universe.

Fierce Grounded Loyal Resourceful

🛡️

Stilgar

“As it was written.” You are the bedrock — the person everyone counts on when the sand shifts beneath their feet. Your strength comes from conviction: you believe in something bigger than yourself and you commit to it absolutely. Some call it blind faith; you call it purpose. You’re traditional, deeply loyal, and the first to recognize greatness in others. When the chosen one arrives, you’ll be the first to kneel — and the last to leave their side.

Faithful Honorable Steadfast Traditional

🕷️

Baron Harkonnen

“He who controls the spice controls the universe.” You think three moves ahead while everyone else is still setting up the board. Power isn’t something that falls into your lap — you engineer it, cultivate it, and protect it with ruthless precision. You’re not evil, you’re practical. The universe doesn’t reward the kind; it rewards the clever. You understand leverage, patience, and the art of letting your enemies destroy themselves. People may not like you, but they respect you — and fear you.

Cunning Ambitious Patient Ruthless

↻ PLAY AGAIN

The role feels perfectly suited to Pattinson's strengths and penchant for playing darker and more eccentric roles, and it should be very exciting to see him play such a major rival to Paul. With Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Javier Bardem all expected to return, Dune: Messiah is already one of the most anticipated movies of the year. As such, Robert Pattinson's addition only makes Denis Villeneuve's final Dune film even more exciting.

2 The Odyssey

Even without Robert Pattinson's involvement, Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey would likely be one of the most anticipated films of the year. However, it's even more exciting as the actor is indeed part of the massive ensemble cast for what is no doubt one of Nolan's most ambitious projects yet.

Seen in trailers, Robert Pattinson is playing Antinous, one of the most despicable figures in Homer's original epic, making him a perfect antagonist. In the epic, Antinous is the cruelest and most arrogant of the 108 suitors in Ithaca seeking to marry Queen Penelope (Anne Hathaway) while King Odysseus (Matt Damon) is lost at sea and seeking to return home following the Trojan War.

Antinous was also a major rival to Odysseus' son, Telamachus (Tom Holland), which means we will soon see the current Batman actor facing off with Hollywood's current Spider-Man (which is just too fun). Antinous was also the first of Ithaca's suitors to be confronted by Odysseus upon his eventual return.

With Robert Pattinson serving as a core antagonist, not unlike in Dune: Messiah, The Odyssey will give the actor another major opportunity to embrace darker characters in 2026.

The rest of the film's supporting cast is quite impressive, including Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Jon Bernthal, Charlize Theron, and numerous other major stars. Combined with Nolan's reputation for delivering cinematic events of the highest prestige and spectacle, The Odyssey feels destined to dominate movie conversations when it releases in IMAX theaters this July.

And speaking of Batman...

1 The Batman Part II

Robert Pattinson staring in The Batman

No upcoming Robert Pattinson movie has arguably been generating more excitement than The Batman Part II. Scheduled for release in 2027, the upcoming sequel from director Matt Reeves continues the epic Gotham saga from the first movie, which was then followed by The Penguin streaming series.

In 2022's The Batman, Pattinson delivered one of the most compelling interpretations of The Dark Knight ever seen on the big screen. His younger version of Bruce Wayne, earlier in his crusade, is fascinating, especially by the movie's ending, where he comes to the realization that he has to be more than "Vengeance" alone.

As such, the evolution of Bruce's mission in The Batman - Part II should be very compelling, especially with some of the new supporting cast members like Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson who are expected to play Harvey & Gilda Dent.

The first film had already done the work proving that Robert Pattinson can play an outstanding Batman. The sequel now has the opportunity to show how much further he can take the character in Matt Reeves' version of Gotham, making The Batman Part II easily his most anticipated upcoming movie by far.
