Robert Irwin has reportedly been ordered to stay put at Australia Zoo by his mother.
An insider revealed to Daily Mail Australia that Terri Irwin, 61, has pared back her 22–year–old son's commitments for at least three months.
According to the source, the Irwin matriarch fears Robert may be lured to work in the US following his recent win on Dancing With the Stars.
'Terri has absolutely pulled the pin and said, "Enough. You're coming home,"' the source said.
'She's cut back his commitments, and she's called him back to Australia Zoo.
'She believes in structure, stability and routine, and mother knows best,' they added.

'Terri doesn't want him doing interviews and appearances just because the industry demands it. She wants him protected.'
'She's seen how quickly fame can change everything,' the insider said.
'Australia Zoo was [Steve's] foundation, and Terri believes that's the only way to stay grounded.'
For years, Terri has been described as fiercely protective, and sources say she has always been determined to keep both Robert and Bindi in Australia.
'People can say what they want but Robert and Bindi are incredibly well–adjusted,' added the source.
'They're model kids – and that doesn't happen by accident.'
Robert has worked non–stop in recent months.
'It started with intense rehearsals for Dancing With The Stars in America.'
Daily Mail understands Terri is eager to steer Robert into a new career behind the camera, not always in front of it
'Then he went straight into filming I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! He barely has had time to breathe,' said the source.
'Terri could see the toll it was taking. And she wants him back in his safe place – where he feels like himself again.'

'She wants him directing, producing and shooting,' the insider explains.
'In many ways, she'd love to see him become a storyteller like Steve was… without always being the face.'
In true Irwin fashion, insiders say Robert isn't sulking about being sent home either. He actually loves it.
'Robert's had many conversations with Terri about what makes him happy. And being at the zoo has always been at the top of the list,' the source explains.
'Terri isn't stopping him from having a global career,' said the insider.
'She just wants him to remember the rule that Steve lived his life by: you go out into the world, but you always come home.'
