Richard Wilkins' ex Nicola Dale makes shock appearance on Sunrise - here's what she had to say

Richard Wilkins' ex-girlfriend Nicola Dale made a shock appearance on Channel Seven's Sunrise on Tuesday morning - and made a very surprising admission.

The former flight attendant was discussing her holiday flying tips with the hosts when she was asked if the infamous Mile High Club was real.

'It is actually a thing! It happens and it's hilarious. You see one person go into the bathroom and another person follows,' Nicola said.

The Mile High Club is the informal term for people who have secretly had sex while aboard an inflight plane by sneaking into the bathroom together.

'You hear noises. So, as crew you will do a non-emergency call and alert all the other flight attendants,' she added.

'So, the door eventually opens and there's half a dozen cabin crew there. It's great, they are busted!'

Several high profile Australian celebrities have openly boasted about being part of this exclusive 'club', including Love Island Australia host Sophie Monk.

Veteran TV presenter Richard Wilkins, 70, reportedly split from Nicola, his girlfriend of four years, in November 2023.

And it appears the pair's romance may have been in trouble before the breakup.

The seemingly happy couple were last pictured at a public event together in November 2023, during Derby Day celebrations in Melbourne. 

Former flight attendant Nicola shared several photos of the pair walking the red carpet and having a fun night out with friends. 

In fact, the podcaster often shared pictures of the Nine Entertainment Editor to social media throughout their four-year relationship.

But the posts began to slow down early last year as Nicola shared their romantic holiday snaps less and less.

On June 14, she posted a sweet picture of the pair in Ibiza as they stood in front of a sunset, but Wilkins didn't appear in any more photos of her weeks-long overseas trip with friends. 

News of Richard and Nicola's alleged split broke in May - He was rumoured to be popping the question soon, but it appears those reports may have instead cooled the relationship.

Sources told The Daily Telegraph the couple split in November, not long after they were spotted together at Derby Day celebrations in Melbourne. 

The insider claimed their relationship got rocky in March after online media outlets speculated about their possible engagement. 

They said Richard was reluctant to marry a fourth time after giving away a small fortune to his last three wives during their respective divorces.

However sources close to the television host said in March he wanted to make a commitment to the former flight attendant, whom he has been dating since 2020.

'Dickie has got a lot of life left in him. He's now more than ready to finally settle down,' they told New Idea at the time.

'They just have this lovely ease about them. As a couple, they give each other space, but seem to really love being together.

'He also sees his good mate Karl Stefanovic so happy and settled with Jasmine and his new family, and Dickie wants what Karl has.'

Richard has been married three times and has five children to four different mothers - He is now dating celebrity makeup artist Mia Hawkswell.
