EXCLUSIVE: Amazon MGM Studios has put in development Rich AF, a series based on Vivian Tu‘s bestselling book Rich AF: The Winning Money Mindset That Will Change Your Life, from Mallory Rosenthal (Panic), Sarah Kucserka (The Summer I Turned Pretty) and Patrick Moran‘s PKM Productions.
Created and written by Rosenthal, Rich AF is a riches to rags story that follows 23-year-old Lia, a billionaire’s daughter and Wall Street rising star who has to start from scratch after exposing her father’s white collar crimes and losing everything she once held dear. She’ll be pinned between her former glittering life and a new scrappier one as she painstakingly builds a freelance career and learns that wealth isn’t only measured in dollars.
PKM Productions’ Moran and Lynley Bird brought the project into Amazon for series development under their first-look deal with the studio, and will also serve as executive producers via PKM.
Rosenthal executive produces with Kucserka, who serves as showrunner. Tu also serves as an executive producer.

Rosenthal serves as writer for Midnight Sun, the upcoming Twilight animated series based on Stephenie Meyer’s 2020 novel. She previously served as writer on Prime Video’s YA drama series Panic. Rosenthal is repped by WME and Amplified Management.
Kucserka co-created, executive produced and showran High Fidelity starring Zoe Kravita at Hulu. She most recently served as showrunner on seasons 2 and 3 of Amazon’s The Summer I Turned Pretty, and she is currently working on The Summer I Turned Pretty movie at Prime Video. Her previous credits include showrunner for Season 2 of Amazon’s Panic and consulting producer for Disney+’s Big Shot.
Tu is a New York Times bestselling author and founder/CEO of Your Rich BFF. Her second book, Well Endowed: The Secrets to Strategic Spending, Building a Financial Foundation for You and Your Family, and Creating Lasting Generational Wealth, recently reached No. 4 on the NYT’s bestseller list. Tu is repped by WME, Hansen Jacobson and 42West.
Moran has been under a first-look deal at Amazon since 2019 to develop and produce premium scripted fare for the streamer. He is currently an executive producer on USA Network’s The Rainmaker, a legal thriller series based on John Grisham’s novel. Prior to launching PKM, Moran was President of ABC Studios, where he oversaw production on series including black-ish, Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away With Murder, Scandal, Revenge and Once Upon a Time. Moran also launched the studio’s cable/streaming shingle ABC Signature which produced Little Fires Everywhere, High Fidelity, Godfather of Harlem and SMILF.
