Kyle Sandilands has debuted a slimmer frame as his legal battle with ARN heats up.

The radio king, 55, revealed his new look on Wednesday night as he stepped out for his birthday dinner at Mimi's in Coogee with close friends and family.

Clad in a black suit and button-down dress shirt, Kyle's recent slim-down was obvious as he strolled towards the upmarket eatery with his posse.

Fans have since commented on photos of Kyle from the night, remarking on how much healthier he is looking these days.

'Kyle is looking great,' one user wrote.

'He's lost weight. Looking much better,' another added.

Back in April, Kyle revealed that his wife Tegan Kynaston had put him on a strict diet.

The KIIS FM star told his followers at the time that Tegan was monitoring his food intake to help improve his health amid an ongoing weight battle.

'I'm coming back guys, Bigger than ever! Actually, not fatter, I'm doing an Albo just quietly, my missus has got me on a diet,' Kyle said.

'This morning I ate ten grapes for breakfast. Like, what the f**k? Oh, and two boiled eggs and a four-pack of Coke, I drank half a tin of Coca-Cola,' he said.

Kyle added that one of the reasons he was dieting was that he was fed up with negative comments about his appearance.

'I am sick of people talking s**t about me. Enough is enough,' he said, which prompted Kyle's long-time manager Bruno Bouchet to reassure him: 'You look great, mate.'

'That's Bruno... He's being paid to say that... Oh, actually he is not being paid at the moment so it means so much more! Thanks, mate,' Kyle quipped and then walked over to give Bruno a hug.

It comes amid Kyle's ongoing legal battle against his former employer ARN.

The bitter dispute erupted after ARN terminated Sandilands' reported $100 million contract in March following an explosive on-air clash with longtime co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson.

The pair's once untouchable breakfast empire crumbled almost overnight after Henderson walked away from the show amid claims she no longer felt comfortable working alongside Sandilands.

In response, ARN - through subsidiary Commonwealth Broadcasting Corporation - axed both stars and pulled the plug on The Kyle and Jackie O Show entirely.

Sandilands subsequently launched Federal Court action against ARN, arguing the network had no valid grounds to terminate his lucrative deal.

At the centre of the case is whether Sandilands' notoriously abrasive on-air persona was effectively part of the product ARN knowingly paid for over decades.

ARN, however, has fiercely disputed the claims and is fighting back with counterclaims seeking damages for lost revenue, profit declines and legal costs.

Separate filings from Henderson allege she had complained about Sandilands' behaviour months before their now-infamous on-air blow-up, claiming ARN executives were aware of tensions long before the show imploded publicly.
