Resident Evil Requiem's Angela Sant'Albano will be taking over for English in Tides of Annihilation. She played Grace Ashcroft in Requiem, which quickly established itself as a favorite for 2026's Game of the Year award. "I want people who haven't seen themselves as a hero look to Grace and finally be able to think 'Wow, that's me.' We all have a monster in our life in one way or another, even if it's not a zombie chasing us down a hallway," Sant'Albano told Polygon earlier this year about her breakout role.
Gameplay for Tides of Annihilation has been making the internet rounds over the past few days (potentially the demo that will be playable at Gamescom next week). Motion-capture actor Jennifer Prime shared a clip on her X account. Someone reposted it with the comment, "Grace Ashcroft is her new VA btw!" and Prime confirmed this herself, writing "Yep!!!."
At the time of this writing, Eclipse Glow Games has not announced who is taking over for English. Its most recent post on X is still the message from July about English stepping away, which also confirmed English "will continue to support the project in an advisory role."
Tides of Annihilation is an action RPG that looks a bit like a Soulslike crossed with Final Fantasy 16. It follows Gwendolyn searching the ruins of post-apocalyptic London for the Holy Grail and her lost sister, and she'll come across knights inspired by Arthurian legends along the way. Eclipse Glow Games' RPG is still without a release date, but it will come to PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
