Resident Evil Requiem has a ton of encounters with enemies, but not many proper boss fights. In fact, most of them are reserved for Leon, which makes sense as he carries superior firepower throughout the game and can match the intensity of those bosses.

Still, there are plenty of action-packed moments in Resident Evil Requiem that will test your skills, especially in higher difficulty settings. Let's rank them all, from easiest to hardest.

Warning: Spoilers present for Resident Evil Requiem.

Victor On The Motorcycle

RE9 Victor Motorcycle

Late in the game, Leon will battle his nemesis, Victor, in a motorcycle fight, one of thegame's main vehicular set pieces. This is by far the easiest "boss battle" in Resident Evil Requiem, as you'll just need to point and shoot at Victor Gideon for roughly a minute before the sequence is over, and you're on to the next zone.

However, it also serves as a reminder of the series' history with vehicle sections, and is a fun little interlude that won't dip into your ammo reserves. Plus, you'll need all the ammo for later, as there's a boss gauntlet to come.

The Giant Baby

RE9 Giant Enemy in Hallway

As the first real "boss fight" of the game featuring Leon, you'll have a decent armory built up already by the time you take on the Giant Baby in an attic-like setting.

Since this comes so early into Requiem, the Giant Baby's moveset isn't too destructive; you just need to stay away from it and blast away, retreating as you go. This room is filled to the brim with items and plenty of walls to hamper the baby's movements, making it a perfect arena to take it out.

Just make sure you head up to the upper levels of the room to grab the ammo and items there before the baby destroys the ladders. Even if you don't use it in the fight, it'll come in handy later.

The Giant Girl

RE9 Witch Boss

As the first major enemy you encounter in Requiem, you'll eventually have to square off against the giant girl monster that was shown off in the game's initial trailers. Since you'll be playing as Grace, this boss battle is a little more movement and puzzle-based, rather than a head-on battle of attrition where you're wasting gobs of ammo.

While attempting to operate machinery to open up a giant retractable roof (sunlight weakens the boss), you'll need to sneak around and avoid the girl, fending it off with spotlights. This encounter rewards patience, but even small mistakes can result in the boss taking a big bite out of Grace.

Don't be afraid to use a few bullets here and there to stagger the girl, so you can run past and trigger a light. You're better off using a handgun here to run interference rather than do heavy damage.

The Return Of Mr. X

RE9 Mr X Boss

A lot of Resident Evil Requiem's traditional boss battles are backloaded, and that includes the return of Mr. X, aka another classic Tyrant from Resident Evil 2. You'll fight him in a giant outdoor arena, making it relatively easy to dodge and parry his attacks.

Mr. X does put up a fight and can dish out a ton of damage, so he's in the middle of the road as far as Requiem's boss battles go. There's also a decent chunk of supplies available in boxes throughout the perimeter of the arena.

The Giant Plant

RE9 Giant Plant Boss

In classic Resident Evil fashion, you'll need to fight a few gigantic enemies in Requiem, including a huge plant that's teased throughout a portion of the Raccoon City section. Since it's so massive, its attacks have a wide reach, and it's easy to get hit by them.

However, the Giant Plant also operates a lot like a traditional old-school video game fight, "weak points" and all. If you stick to the glowing bulbous areas, you can take down the plant, but it can also deal a lot of critical damage to Leon if you aren't careful to time your parries with its giant, unavoidable slams.

The Giant Spider

RE9 Spider Boss

If you're afraid of spiders, Requiem does not have an Arachnophobia mode, and the Giant Spider will likely create nightmare fuel for another generation of Resident Evil players. This is a multiphase fight, and similar to the Giant Baby, you'll have to move around a relatively small multi-level battleground while picking up ammo and bonuses along the way. Since you'll have access to some items in the fight, this one isn't as tough as it could be.

I brought out the big guns for this one and used some magnum ammo, as the Giant Spider is capable of a lot of swift attacks that can add up. It's also highly mobile and can get to you pretty much anywhere in the boss arena.

The Elite Guard Boss

RE9 Elite Guard Boss

Near the very end of Resident Evil Requiem, the boss fights get a little more intense. After taking out the highly capable Elite Guard, you'll need to square off against their boss in a pared-down, intimate battle. Don't expect to blast your way out of this one. The Elite Guard boss is capable of moving around very quickly, and is more than a match for Leon even on the standard difficulty setting.

For an extra fun time, make sure you fight him in hand-to-hand combat. As long as you have the parrying timing down, the battle is actually a little easier than if you go in guns blazing, attempting to hit him with every shot.

I wish there were more fights like this one in Resident Evil Requiem, especially in the Leon sections. It offered a nice change of pace compared to some of the larger creatures, where you're dumping a ton of bullets into them.

Victor Gideon

RE9 Victor Final Boss

As you near the runway for the final confrontation of Requiem, you'll face off against Victor Gideon in a proper, non-motorcycle battle. He's capable of doing a ton of damage in a short amount of time and has a wide range of splash with his attacks once he gets powered up by the electric nodes around the battlefield.

Try to stay at a medium range from Victor and pepper him with shots, then punish him. I went through a lot of ammo taking Victor down, which leads directly into the last fight of the game. While these last two entries are technically two separate boss fights, they are inexorably linked and serve as the last challenge you'll need to overcome.

Before you finish him off, make sure you pick up all the ammo you can in the boss arena.

Victor (Final Form)

RE9 Victor Final Form

By the time you get to the mutated form of Victor, the game is almost over, but you'll need to finish one last battle before you roll credits. While the actual fight is arguably easier than the humanoid version of Victor, you'll also need to face this enhanced version directly afterward, meaning you could potentially have less ammo or grenades to take him on with.

Similar to the Giant Plant, mutated Victor has access to wide sweep attacks, which can severely punish players who don't have the parry mechanic down pat. Just be sure to keep him in the corner of your eye, and if he's winding up for a big slam, prep that parry button. Sharpening your knife during downtime throughout the battle will also help.

Resident Evil Requiem isn't the toughest game in the series, but there are plenty of challenges there for long-time fans, especially on higher difficulty settings.
