More so than even the announcement of Resident Evil Veronica, fans can’t wait to hear more about the story-related DLC for the latest mainline Resident Evil game. This is perhaps a testament to how beloved Resident Evil Requiem is, and how thrilled fans are by brand-new Resident Evil games and stories, though a lot of the hype thus far may boil down to fans hoping to see Ada Wong for the first time in a mainline installment since Resident Evil 6.

While fans wait patiently for Resident Evil Requiem’s story-related DLC, which is rumored to be released after the launch of Resident Evil Veronica, there are thankfully plenty of other Resident Evil DLCs players can indulge in. Only they’re not Resident Evil’s DLCs, they’re other games’ Resident Evil DLCs.

On Twitter/X, Arena Breakout Infinite has announced a Resident Evil 4 crossover collaboration with a piece of key art featuring Leon S. Kennedy and Ada Wong (with their character designs inspired by their looks in the Resident Evil 4 remake). This post reads, “Full mission briefings dropping soon.”

For the uninitiated, Arena Breakout Infinite is a tactical extraction shooter with PvPvE. This is certainly one of the more trendy gameplay genres out lately, with games like ARC Raiders proving to be tremendously popular, but it’s perhaps one of the most bizarre genres for a survival horror/action franchise like Resident Evil to become involved with.

No details have been shared in terms of what to expect from this DLC collab, though it’ll be interesting to see if it decides to inherit elements of Resident Evil’s world into its gameplay, such as having zombies roaming around for players to defend themselves from while they’re looting. If nothing else, it’s great to see Resident Evil’s Ada again, since there’s no way to tell when we might see her next in her own franchise.

Per Steam, Arena Breakout Infinite’s Resident Evil 4 collab interestingly states that “the legendary agent is ready to deploy to Kamona.” This seems to single Leon out, without any mention of Ada, which is odd, as it suggests that she’s merely a cosmetic skin being added to the game in this DLC crossover (which Leon would presumably be, too).

Either way, Resident Evil is easily one of the biggest franchises around now, especially when it comes to how fortunate it is to marry horror and action so seamlessly and how many cookie jars it has its hand in at any moment. At this point, any game should consider itself lucky to have a Resident Evil DLC crossover collab.
