Renée Zellweger was pictured trekking through the woods as she filmed some gloomy scenes for Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.

The actress, 55, who has played the titular character since 2001, shot footage for the fourth instalment in Keswick in the Lake District National Park last week.

Production company, Working Title, confirmed earlier this month that the movie will hit cinemas on Valentine's Day next year and said that filming had finally wrapped.

However, it seems that there were still some more shots to finish, as Renée embarked on a rainy school camping trip with her teacher love interest, played by Marvel star Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Bridget traversed around the woodland in a waterproof jacket and bucket hat before telling the children stories around the fire.

The fourth instalment in the acclaimed franchise is based on the book of the same name by Helen Fielding.

It follows Bridget as she battles motherhood alone following the tragic death of husband Mark, who was played in the previous films by Colin Firth

In the last movie, Bridget Jones's Baby, she is seen attending the memorial of her other on-off love Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant, who is presumed dead after a plane crash. He is later found alive.

The much loved character enjoys a fling with a hunky toyboy named Rockstar, who is played by One Day star Leo Woodall, 27, after the pair meet on social media.

As well as her love affair with Rockstar, the lovable diarist will also explore a romantic connection with her son's PE teacher Mr Walker, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, while also reviving her on-off relationship with Hugh Grant's Daniel.

Production company, Working Title, shared an update to X on August 9 after filming for the next instalment wrapped and confirmed that it will hit cinemas on Valentine's Day.

A photo uploaded to their account shows a director's chair in front of the iconic character's Borough Market home with The Globe Tavern seen in the background.

'That's a wrap. See you on Valentine’s Day,' they captioned.

However, filming soon resumed with Renée seen back on set with Leo on August 26 outside Borough Market.

The pair were seen walking past Bridget's iconic flat above The Globe Tavern, where the character lived in the first films.

The street outside was famously the site for the iconic fight between Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver in the first film as they vied for Bridget's affections.

The Mail on Sunday previously revealed that Bridget will give up her famous bachelorette pad in favour of a family home in leafy Hampstead, North London, where many scenes have been filmed in the past few months.

It was also revealed Colin Firth's Mark Darcy is to be reunited with Bridget Jones after all.

When the actor's name was absent from the cast list, fans feared his character had been killed off.

In Helen Fielding's novels after he marries Bridget, he later dies while working abroad as a human rights lawyer.

However, in exclusive photographs from the set of Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, Renee is seen lovingly interacting with her co-star Colin.

Fielding's Mad About The Boy novel had Bridget navigating life as a widow four years after Darcy's death, his return is a huge surprise, which film bosses were desperate to keep under wraps.

A source said: 'Colin was always going to appear in the movie but it was supposed to be a secret.'
