EXCLUSIVE: Regina Hall (One Battle After Another) is set to star opposite Adam Driver in Netflix‘s upcoming hostage thriller series Rabbit, Rabbit, from creator/showrunner Peter Craig, director Philip Barantini and MRC.

In Rabbit, Rabbit, when escaped convict J-Will (Driver) is cornered by law enforcement at a truck stop, he takes hostages in an effort to bargain for his freedom. But the standoff soon escalates into an unmanageable social experiment with his captives, as well as an emotional poker match with a veteran FBI Crisis Negotiator (Hall) trained in “tactical empathy.”

Hall is said to be playing Poppy, a retired FBI supervisory special agent dragged back into the fray despite having very little patience for bullsh*t. She becomes J-Will’s external counterpart – the only person capable of matching his intellect and pushing against his philosophy.

Driver executive produces alongside Craig and Adolescence‘s Philip Barantini, who is set to direct the series. Also executive producing are Samantha Beddoe for her and Barantini’s It’s All Made Up Productions and Bryan Unkeless for his and Craig’s Night Owl Stories banner. The series stems from the first-look deal MRC has with Craig and Night Owl Stories.

Hall has a supporting role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Oscar-nominated, One Battle After Another, which has earned her several awards and nominations, including nominations for a Best Supporting Actress NAACP Award and a SAG Award shared with the rest of the film’s ensemble. Next, she will be seen in Scary Movie 6 and the Peacock series The Five Star Weekend. Hall is repped by The Independent Artist Group.
