Red Dead Redemption 2 Ultimate Is A Wildly Impressive Upgrade

Red Dead Redemption 2 is understandably seen by many as one of the greatest games of all time, and Rockstar's Western epic can give out thousands of hours of entertainment in its own right between the single-player and multiplayer modes. Though it originally arrived as a console exclusive, the game is available on PC these days, and that did wonders for its longevity for players.

As we all know, the PC is the native home of the lesser-spotted modder, and a dedicated community has built up around the game that continues to release downloads all the time. If you are planning on picking up the game again soon as a non-console player, there's a new set of releases that you'll absolutely want to consider if you want to enhance the experience.

Over on Nexus Mods, you should be able to find the page for Red Dead Ultimate, an extensive list that brings together a wide range of mods designed to increase immersion, improve gameplay, and deal with some ongoing gripes that players often have with the base game.

The overall goal for the modlist is to create, "the ultimate RDR2 experience," (as the name may suggest), and it's fair to say they have thought of pretty much everything. A ton of models and textures have been improved, including for many of the game's characters, while it also makes tangible changes to the game's systems, including crime and the way law is enforced, as well as the accuracy of pedestrians.

Dutch Van Der Linde also gets a redesign to make him closer to the version we know from Red Dead Redemption 1, and brawling has been enhanced. It even includes mods that you'd likely never thing of, like realistic decomposition for bodies left behind after all the killing that goes on.

It even has considerably more ambitious mods like Bounty Hunting - Notorious Outlaws, which allows the player to hunt down members of the O'Driscolls, Skinner Brothers, Murfree Brood, Del Lobos, and more, all of whom are wanted in the game's systems. It even gets rid of the faceless figure who regularly struggles to go to the bathroom in the Valentine Hotel.

The only thing you'll want to make sure of is that you have Script Hook, LML, and ASI Loader ready to go, as all of those are required to make sure the mods work.

If that particular collection doesn't take your fancy, there are a ton of other modlists for Red Dead Redemption 2 out there you can try out. Failing that, you can build up your own array of mods to tune the game to exactly what you need, though be aware that will open the mods up to potential conflict.
