Fourth Wing is back with a stunning new addition.

The beloved novels were first published in 2023 and launched an entire bestselling Empyrean fantasy-romance empire. Fourth Wing follows fragile 20-year-old Violet Sorrengail as she fights for survival among those who want her dead in the deadly Basgiath War College. However, what she soon learns is that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to the war, her mother, and her powerful enemy, Xaden Riorson.

Rebecca Yarros is bringing a whole new Fourth Wing novel to life, and the cover has officially been revealed. As per the official Amazon listing, the cover for Fourth Wing, The Graphic Novel: Volume 1 has been unveiled. Yarros first announced the new novel on social media, saying the book is available to pre-order and will be released worldwide on April 6, 2027. Fans also got the chance to order a deluxe version and, unsurprisingly, it was instantly sold out.

Lavishly illustrated with full-color artwork and adapted by Rebecca Yarros herself, this breathtaking graphic novel features the first half (chapters 1-22) of Fourth Wing, offering an immersive experience for fans of the #1 New York Times bestselling Empyrean series and new readers alike!

When the author shared the exciting news of a new Fourth Wing graphic novel, she stated that "There will be several editions of this book with unique covers for different retailers, but the story inside is the same for ALL editions. This is truly a pick-your-favorite cover scenario! Toward the end of the month, we’ll reveal the covers for all editions so you can make informed decisions on preordering. I already have my fave and I can’t wait to hear which one is yours!" So, when more stores unveil the listing, more gorgeous covers are expected to be released.

The inside cover of the new novel was also revealed to depict the Esben Mountains, known for being a border between the Kingdom of Navarre and Poromiel. Anabel Rossi is credited for illustrating the novel, with Yarros stating that, "First, I’m in proofs for the graphic novel, and I’m obsessed with watching this world come to life in this new medium. The artwork is GORGEOUS and I have the incredibly talented @mayet_artist to thank!"

At the time of writing, Yarros has yet to unveil an official title, cover or release date for the fourth book in the Empyrean series, but has reassured fans that she's hard at work bringing a new story to life with the beloved characters returning for another nailbiting adventure.

It was previously announced that the author was planning to write five books in total for the Fourth Wing series. The fourth novel will contain multiple POVs, including Violet, Xaden, Dain, Ridoc, and Sloane. Yarros also revealed a spinoff novel set in the same universe titled Threshing Day, which will contain an anthology of short stories about characters during their dragon-riding days in Basgiath. Threshing Day will be released on September 29.
