UPDATED with new release date: In a sign of confidence, Searchlight Pictures is moving up the release date of Radio Silence’s Ready or Not 2: Here I Come from March 27 to March 20, 2026. The new date comes just after Ready or Not 2‘s world premiere at SXSW (no specific premiere date yet, but the fest runs March 12-18 in Austin).

That frame is a big spring break weekend, with Comscore showing 38% of K-12 students on break and 37% of colleges off as well. However, Ready or Not 2 will go head-to-head now with Amazon MGM Studios’ Project Hail Mary and IFC’s Forbidden Fruits.

Before 2025 closes out, Disney has made some date shifts to next year and beyond.

Searchlight’s Ready or Not 2: Here I Come moves up to March 27, demonstrating a big confidence in the horror sequel from its April 10 release date in 2026. The new release date for the Radio Silence directed movie is the pre-Easter frame and it’s going up against Warner Bros/New Line horror movie They Will Kill You. Hmmmm.

Meanwhile, Ridley Scott’s Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Guy Pearce, Margaret Qualley, and Benedict Wong sci fi thriller The Dog Stars, goes from March 27 next year to summer’s penultimate weekend on Aug. 28, 2026. Pic’s blurb: In a post-apocalyptic world, a virus wipes out humanity. Survivors face roaming scavengers called Reapers. Protagonist Hig, a pilot, survived the flu but lost his wife. On Aug. 28 already there’s Ketchup’s Coyote vs. Acme, and K Row’s Cliffhanger.

Also, Pixar’s Italian-set Gatto about a black cat named Nero, who is indebted to a feline mob boss, goes from June 18, 2027 up to March 5, 2027. Pic is directed by Enrico Casarosa. Disney already had March 5 on hold. Already on that date is an untitled Warner Bros movie and Amazon MGM Studio’s Michael B. Jordan directed and starring reboot of The Thomas Crown Affair.

Among the untitled Disney RSVP’s on the calendar, the studio has dropped Sept. 11 and Nov. 6 in 2026. They took their reserved slot for March 5, 2027 and shifted it to June 18, 2027.
