Reacher season 5's fate has officially been decided by Prime Video.

Prime Video has officially announced that it has renewed Reacher for a fifth season ahead of season 4's premiere later this year. The reason for the early renewal is Reacher's "continued success and global appeal of the action-packed drama," the streamer said. Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios, also shared the following statement:

From Lee Child’s globally beloved novels to its standout on-screen adaptation, Reacher has evolved into a true powerhouse franchise. The series’ ability to combine high-octane action with compelling character storytelling continues to resonate with tens of millions of viewers around the world. We’re excited to move forward with a fifth season ahead of Season Four’s debut and to build on this incredible momentum. We’re grateful to our outstanding creative partners, cast, and crew—Nick, Alan, Lee, Skydance, and CBS Studios—for continuing to bring this world to life in such a bold and compelling way.

Developed by Nick Santora, who also serves as showrunner, Reacher stars Alan Ritchson as the titular character – a self-proclaimed drifter and former military policeman who possesses exceptional strength, intelligence, and skills. While traveling from town to town, Reacher repeatedly encounters dangerous criminals, solves crimes, and brings them to justice.

According to Prime Video, Reacher season 4 will "continue the high-stakes storytelling that has made Reacher a standout global hit, with Alan Ritchson reprising his role as Jack Reacher. Additional details on the upcoming season will be announced at a later date."

Based on the 13th book in Lee Child's series, Gone Tomorrow, season 4 follows Jack Reacher as a brief subway encounter with a distressed stranger spirals into disaster and pulls him into a dangerous and intricate conspiracy that pits him against merciless adversaries from the highest echelons of power.

Season 4 will introduce several new cast members, including Chris Marquette as Jake Merrick, Sydelle Noel as Tamara Green, Agnez Mo as Lila Hoth, Anggun as Lila's mother, Amisha Hoth, Kevin Corrigan as Russell Plum, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, and Kathleen Robertson. Season 4 wrapped filming in March 2026, though it does not yet have an official release date.

Reacher season 3 received 54.6 million views worldwide on Prime Video within its first 19 days, making it the platform's most-watched show since Fallout season 1 over a comparable period. Additionally, on Rotten Tomatoes, Reacher has an average 96% score from critics and 80% audience score across all three seasons.

Prime Video renewing Reacher for a fifth season ahead of season 4's premiere shows tremendous faith in the series and is a clear vote of confidence in the show's staying power. With even more momentum behind it, the early season 5 renewal underscores the show's global popularity and should continue to firmly cement Reacher as one of Prime Video's biggest and most reliable hits.
