EXCLUSIVE: Raúl Castillo, Moira Kelly and Julio César Cedillo have signed on to star in Merced Elizondo’s short And Then Everything Turned Itself Inside Out.
Elizondo (The Mourning Of) is one of the 2026 cohort of directors receiving the Latino Film Institute’s Inclusion Fellowship. The initiative is supported by Netflix and sees ten emerging filmmakers given a grant and mentorship to make live-action shorts. And Then Everything Turned Itself Inside Out follows Lázaro, who aware that birthmarks can reveal past lives, must decide whether to uncover the origin of the mark on the back of his neck.
Castillo recently starred in HBO’s cop series Task and takes the lead role. Kelly (Finding Her Edge) and Cedillo, best known for his titular role in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, also star. The film is being produced by Texas-based producer Lizette Barrera Morales.
And Then Everything Turned Itself Inside Out and the other completed films from the 2026 LFI Inclusion Fellowship, will have a screening at the 25th edition of the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival in May, before hopefully going on to other festivals.
