Bebe Rexha Shares She Suffered Pregnancy Loss After Comments on Met Gala Appearance
Rasmus Dahlin and Carolina Matovac are shared they experienced as devastating loss amid her health scare.
Nearly six months after the Buffalo Sabres player’s fiancée underwent a heart transplant in France due to organ failure, she opened up about suffering a pregnancy loss as she fought for her own life.
“Today was meant to be the day we finally met you,” Carolina wrote in a Jan. 26 Instagram post. “You will always hold a special place in our hearts as our first baby, even though we never had the chance to meet. Our love for you is endless. Though you didn’t get to experience this world, you played a vital role in ensuring that I could continue to be a part of it.”
Indeed, Carolina, 25, shared that her concerns over her pregnancy led her to take her own illness seriously when she fell ill during a vacation with Rasmus over the summer.
“If it weren’t for my worries about you, we might never have called for help and gone to the hospital,” she explained. “Because of that decision, I was in the right place at the right time during my first heart failure. This is just one of the many reasons I am alive today, able to embrace a normal life once again.”
She concluded, “You are our hero, and I hope you are being well cared for in heaven. We love you baby Matovac Dahlin.”
Carolina’s message comes two months after she shared she had “so much to be grateful for” after her emergency heart transplant.

“It’s essential to never take life for granted,” Carolina wrote in a November 2025 post. “One day you could be on vacation, and the next you might wake up with a new organ transplanted. Life is unpredictable and full of surprises, so enjoy every moment of it.”
Indeed, in a note Rasmus penned in September ahead of the start of NHL season, the hockey star shared the couple’s summer vacation to the South of France took an unexpected turn for the worst when Carolina fell ill and was kept on life support until she received an organ donation.
“This has undoubtedly been the most challenging chapter of our lives, however it is something that we have learned so much from,” the 25-year-old wrote in a letter on the NHL website. “We will continue to grow from these experiences and are so grateful for all the love and support we have received. We are truly blessed in so many ways and fully realize how fortunate we are."
