Rapper King Harris, the son of T.I. and Tiny Harris, was taken into custody in Gwinnett County in the early hours of Sunday following a traffic stop that quickly escalated.

Officers are said to have pulled him over at around 1 a.m. after allegedly spotting his vehicle traveling well above the posted speed limit, TMZ reported on Tuesday.

During the stop, police reportedly observed what appeared to be a firearm inside the car and instructed him to step out, an order he is said to have refused.

A search allegedly uncovered a vape pen said to contain THC, per the outlet.

He was subsequently booked on a felony drug possession charge, along with a misdemeanour count for allegedly obstructing officers, and cited for additional traffic violations.

Adding to the unusual nature of the incident, Harris, 21, was dressed in a bright Pikachu onesie at the time of the arrest.

Harris was reportedly released on bail roughly five hours after his arrest.

The rapper appeared to document the ordeal on his Instagram Stories, posting a selfie still wearing the Pikachu costume after being pulled over.

He also shared a video of himself in the outfit on his account, writing, in part, 'living a good Pikachu life in Tokyo then come back to ATL and team rocket(F***** POLICE) catch me wit a master ball and throw me n jail all night.'

In a subsequent post, Harris uploaded another selfie - this time without the costume - while making an obscene gesture toward the camera.

He also included a message directed at officers, writing 'F*** dat police' and making a crude remark about an officer’s wife, per TMZ.

The incident is not the first time Harris has encountered legal issues in Georgia.

In 2024, he was accused of nearly hitting a police officer's car at a Dunwoody gas station and was taken into custody after an officer reported smelling marijuana coming from his vehicle.

He was later transferred to Pickens County on a bench warrant tied to a failure to appear in court over a 2022 traffic stop involving alleged speeding and DUI.

Those charges in Pickens County were ultimately dropped in August 2025.

The latest incident also comes after a previous flashpoint between Harris and his father T.I. during a high-profile outing in 2023.

The pair were attending an NFL game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium where tensions spilled over inside a private suite.

The Atlanta rapper - whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. - had just taken part in a halftime performance marking the 50th anniversary of hip-hop when what began as light-hearted banter with his son escalated.

King streamed the confrontation live on Instagram as the situation turned physical.

T.I. and Tiny Harris welcomed King in 2004, by which point the rapper had already achieved major success, including his platinum-selling album Trap Muzik.

The couple also share two younger children, Major and Heiress, while both have children from previous relationships.

T.I. is also father to Messiah, Domani and Deyjah, while Tiny has an older daughter, Zonnique, from a prior relationship.

The family has faced legal scrutiny in the past.

In September 2021, T.I. and Tiny were cleared in connection with sexual assault allegations after prosecutors declined to pursue charges due to the statute of limitations.

One accuser had claimed the couple drugged and assaulted her after a nightclub meeting years earlier, while a separate allegation tied to an incident in Las Vegas in 2010 also did not proceed for the same reason.

Responding publicly at the time, T.I. denied the claims in strong terms, stating in an Instagram video: 'all these disgusting, anonymous allegations.'

He continued, 'Whatever we have done, has been done with consensual adults who into what we into and like what we like,” adding, 'Ain't never raped nobody, never raped nobody.'
