Cole Villemain, co founder of Pudgy Penguins, has returned to the NFT market with a new collection on Robinhood Chain.

Villemain, who was removed from the Pudgy Penguins project in 2022, released Spritehood on Tuesday, a 44,444 piece NFT collection that sold out less than an hour after its public mint opened.

Villemain announced the start of the mint early on August 11. Less than an hour later, he said the entire collection had been minted and declared his return to the NFT market.

An independent review of the mint transactions by X user 0xlaplaced estimated that the sale generated roughly $1.28 million.

The analysis found that 37,430 NFTs were purchased for $17 each, while 5,526 were minted for $117 each through an option that included a $100 upgrade. Based on those transactions, total proceeds reached approximately $1.283 million, equivalent to around 684 ETH at prices during the mint.

Another 1,488 NFTs were issued at no cost before the paid mint began, according to the same analysis.

Earlier estimates circulating on social media placed proceeds closer to $755,000 to $775,000, but those figures were calculated before the mint had concluded. The final revenue estimate has not been independently confirmed by the project.

Blockchain explorer Blockscout shows the Spritehood Wisp collection, under the WISP ticker, with a total supply of 44,444 NFTs. The contract source code is currently listed as unverified.

Villemain had been previewing the project for several weeks. In July, he said he believed Spritehood could become the leading NFT collection on Robinhood Chain and indicated that development was already largely complete.
